    Zebra T402 on Windows XP

We moved our Zebra T402 from a Windows 98 to a Windows XP computer yesterday. After downloading the updated driver from Zebra, we were able to get the printer to print our barcode labels (using barcode 3 of 9). It had printed blank labels to start, but after setting the correct label size...

PIX 506e - enable outbound Linksys VPN over port 443

Thanks! I now have it working; I created translation rules for the local computers needing the VPN, and I created access rules opening up ports 443 and 500 between these computers & the outside host.

PIX 506e - enable outbound Linksys VPN over port 443

We are using a PIX 506e, v6.3(3). We have outside employees connecting to our network via a Cisco vpn client fine. However, we have a new requirement -- allow 3 employees inside our network to use Linksys QuickVPN to establish a VPN connection with another company. The PIX seems to be...

XP user filling NT security log

Thanks for the tip. I did a quick check of the XP computer's security, system, and application logs, but I didn't see any entries in the logs that were occurring as frequently as in the NT logs. I'll look through the logs more carefully tomorrow when the employee isn't here.

XP user filling NT security log

I've searched for help on this without any success so far. We have an XP (home) user who fills the NT 4.0 (SP6a) server's security log every day. Every 15-20 seconds, there is both an event 528 and 538 for this one user (the two events almost always come in pairs). I've checked to see what...

    VFP 6 Slow on XP

Did you resolve this problem? We recently moved our networked database from a windows nt 4 server to a windows 98 computer. With the windows nt computer, the first person to open table(s) from the database found a fast response time. Anyone opening the table(s) after they were already open by...

Memo file is missing or is invalid

Occassionally, one (or more) users on our network will receive the "Memo file ... is missing or is invalid" error when trying to start our foxpro program (and the program won't start). When this happens, some people can still start the program & view the table that was listed in the...

Windows XP Home Version Network Problem

Thanks for the help. I checked the sharing / access to the computer - the folders were shared and were not read-only. I tried enabling the WINS resolution and added our nt server's ip address to the list. After this, the copying worked. I hadn't done this the first time because it isn't...

Windows XP Home Version Network Problem

I just added a windows XP home version computer to our network. It logs into the windows nt server okay, it opens files off the windows nt server okay, but it keeps giving errors when trying to copy files from or to the XP computer. One error is "cannot copy (file): the I/O operation has...

    Windows NT security and speed

We're running a visual foxpro exe on our client computers (mostly windows 95 & 98 computers). Some of these computers access a foxpro database stored on a windows 98 computer, while others access a copy of the database on a windows nt 4.0 server (SP 6). From the windows 98 computer (server)...

visual foxpro exe starts slowly on windows nt servers

Thanks for the help. As an update: I've tried disabling and then removing Norton Anti-Virus, but the second instance still opens much slower. As for the ODBC drivers, I just noticed that there were different versions on the windows nt computer and the windows 98 computer and didn't know if...

visual foxpro exe starts slowly on windows nt servers

Thanks for the ideas. I've tried several more steps, without any improvements yet... For a database server, do you mean is SQL Server installed on the server? The exe's and support files are on the client computers and the foxpro database is on the server. The windows nt server is set up as...

visual foxpro exe starts slowly on windows nt servers

We are running a visual foxpro application (exe) from multiple computers on our network, accessing a shared database on the server. When the database is on a windows nt 4.0 server (SP 6), the program (database & tables) opens quickly for the first user that starts the foxpro program. For all...
