Launch URL from Text or RichText box

Works a treat! Thanks very much. For reference, I placed this code: lng = Shell("C:\PROGRAM FILES\INTERNET EXPLORER\IEXPLORE.EXE " & txtSRNum.Text, vbNormalFocus) in the click event for the text box displaying the URL. Note that the space after .exe is important!

Launch URL from Text or RichText box

I want to be able to launch a URL that is entered (or pasted) into either a text box or rich text box. The URL will be obtained from an e-mail, and will be the full URL complete with http: etc... Is there an easy way to do this? Thanks.

    Launch from FileList

I'm sure this is simple, but I can't work out how to do it! I have an application that displays the contents of a certain directory in a FileList box. So far, so good. Typically the file list will contain .doc, .xls, vsd, .rtf, .pdf files. I want to be able to click on a file name, and have vb6...

    Memo Field truncated in report

I 'fixed' my problem by recreating the report. The design is exactly as before, but the new one does not truncate the memo fields! Same font, same font size etc. etc. Same query for the source data. I have also copied and edited the report (with a slightly different query) to produce a report on...

    Memo Field truncated in report

    SQL for the report query is:- SELECT Issues.ID, Issues.Country, Issues.Product, Issues.Problem, Issues.Status, Issues.Customer, Updates.Date, Updates.Update, Updates.Action, Updates.[Update ID], Issues.Case, DateDiff("d",Issues!OpenDate,Date$()) AS Expr1, Issues.OpenDate FROM Issues...

    Memo Field truncated in report

Thanks Tom, but I already had that set. Without set to NO, I just get a single line for each entry (as I would expect).

    Memo Field truncated in report

I am running a report which takes data from a two tables, the main table has a memo filed that reports fine, the sub table (One main to many sub) has a memo field that randonmly truncates the memo field. The truncation is not at any particular length, if I add some text (just garbage) to an...

9740 Shows No Drives on Win2K

You do not need the drives on the same SCSI bus as the library for RSM to see them. In device maanger you should be able to see the drives independently, RSM will report the drive status through the library interface. Each drive has a serial connection to the robotics which provides staus and...

9740 Shows No Drives on Win2K

You need a connection from the SCSI library controller to the drives, but having 10 drives plus a robot on one SCSI bus is just asking for trouble. It sounds like you drives are daisy-chained in pairs (reasonable), so with 10 drives you will need five SCSI bus adapters in the server. One bus...

    Restore takes 60 hrs.

Make sure that the 'knows EOD' bit is set in st.conf. If this is not set and you are using tape drives that support fast locates, then the whole tape will be read to locate each file.

Media emergency: could not position tape

On Seagate, this is a firmware bug. Contact your LTO vendor and have them contact Seagate. The problem is to do with residual count returned when a forward space block command hits a file-mark. The residual is invalid and Legato just keeps re-issuing the commands.

Media emergency: could not position tape

I have tried to reproduce this to see if it is firmware related, so far no luck. Investigations continue.

Media emergency: could not position tape

I think this may be a Seagate firmware issue. I have seen it on HP-UX 11.00 when doing single-file restore from multiplexed backups (four streams) and compressing the data. A SCSI trace shows that a forward space block command always shows File Mark encountered. It works with:- IBM LTO drive or...
