Dear Skip,
thank you for your kind assistance.
I also thought about print setup. I have my two test PCs share the same network printer and use the same driver, downloaded from the server. "One page wide" was not set though.
With this setting, the sheet looks and prints the same on the...
Hi Skip,
obviously this property (Selection.Placement = xlFreeFloating) has to be set explicitly - if not, then the opposite (xlMoveAndSize) is the default. However, even with this property set, thr result remains the same.
My procedure explicitly sets page size, margins, columns width and row...
Hi all,
I have an Excel (2010) sheet where I have graphics and forms drawn and positioned by VBA, like:
ActiveSheet.Shapes.AddShape(msoShapeRectangle, posleft, 115, 90#, boxsize). _
Select
Posleft and boxsize are calculated, as each next form has to be positioned farther to the right...
Hi,
I would like to do a Mail Merge in Word (2003) to some of my Outlook (2007) contacts. I basically understand Mail Merge and am perfectly able to access my OL Contacts from Word.
The problem is: I can access an OL-Contacts Folder but then I seemingly have to manually pick out each...
Hi,
I have a user who works with many subfolders in his inbox. Sometimes he moves a mail to a subfolder. It stays there for, say, 10-15 minutes and then automatically disappears from the subfolder and reappears in the inbox. It doesn't happen with every mail but it does more than once.
Any help...
Hi,
am in the process of setting up new PCs. Win XP Pro, Office 2003 with Outlook 2007. When some users /on some PCs start sending a new email, the nickname cache responds very slowly - it takes some 3 - 5 seconds for the names to appear. Copied the same .nk2 file to another pc/user where it...
Thanks, that is clear - but it turns all the AutoComplete suggestions off.
Is there a way of changing the format of a specific suggestion - e.g. dateformat, without turning everything off.
Thanks

I am using MSWord in German to write texts in German. When typing a date with auto insert (auto fill?) on, I get unusable, even disturbing auto insert options. E.g. when typing "25. " on Sep 25, Word suggests "25. Sep. 06" which is not exactly what I want. More disturbing, after "25. September...
In addition to above:
the rectangle produced by a macro has width = 141
On my PC a right-click on the AutoForm produced in this way shows the width of 7,2 cm; on another one the thing gets 7,41 cm wide.
Thanks.

Hi,
I have an Excel2003 file with a macro producing a number of rectangles and textboxes and setting column width & row height so that a set of shapes fits in one cell.
All works fine.
The workbook is on a network and should be used by different people.
Now, when the file is opened & macro...
Sorry, I wasn't clear enough. The correct question was how to add another user's Contacts folder to your own address book.
Found the response top that question (and my problem) under:

Thanks anyway.

Hi,
we have a boss who has his sec manage his mails, contacts and calender. She can make an appointment in his calender and she can see his contacts in "Other Contacts". Now, her boss wants that she sends an appointment from HIS calender to one of HIS contacts.
When she opens the appointment...
Why not set up an Excel file containing an "auto_open" macro that will run as the file is opened. Then set up a task opening that file at the desired time?

Hi,
bullets do make sense but sometimes our texts are processed by a third party software that does not support them.
The idea is to run a macro that finds bullets & numbers and replaces them with, say, a "*" (not "s", sorry), in order to keep the text as structured as possible.
Thks,
ZH
Hi,
I have documents featuring numbers and bullets. Sometimes it is necessary to get rid of them, as they confuse another application. To do this via macro is no problem.
Now I'd like to keep my document structured and would not like just to get rid of them, but to replace them with, say, *s...
Thanks bcastner,
this is better than nothing, but rather unpractical: first you see only the last time a file was opened, not by how many people or how many times it happened. Secondly, you have to open every directory and have a look there.
If a small log file could be produced, that would be...
Hi,
we have a XP-Pro machine acting as a kind of a file-server. It provides a share with a number of files like photos, videoclips etc. to be viewed by staff.
No sophisticated technology: users just connect to the share via Windows Explorer and double-click the file, starting the applic (Media...
Thanks Palagast,
left memtest running overnight with no peculiarities. Btw, I was able to image the disk in a sister-PC and start Windows in the problematic one. It was just Ghost that didnt want to start - thats why Rick's reply seemed to point in the right direction.
Thanks Rick,
yes it is a...
Hi,
just got a new series of brand-new HP Compaq Desktops, with more to follow.
On one machine, Ghost 7.5 wont start from floppy. The autoexec.bat runs normally, and ghost.exe is started in its last entry. Seems as if it were read but instead of getting the familiar ghost screen, the machine...
