in the registry add the setting under hkey_local_machine\system\controlset001\services\tcpip\paramaters\interfaces\(select they adaptor you wish to change) add the dword MTU and under decimal set the mtu paramater you wish to use.

if you can attach to exchange and the services are all running try using an exmerge - this will allow the administrator to export to a pst without having to open in outlook - you then create a new mailbox on the new server and exmerge the mail back in.

No, the system simply seems to recover overnight and performance is ok in the morning. The machine is also the PDC, GC etc for the domain. There is a second DC on the same network as well(same domain) I have looked at traffic stats and cant see anything unusual
