switch to the directory of win98 on the setup cd and type in xmsmmgr
that will start the himem.sys
if you get an error message try putting himem.sys on the boot disk and path it as well
sop from the beginning
cd win98
cd setup
xmsmmgr
set up a share on a server and put the files in that directory and email the link to the users of the 60 pc's and have them click the link you created to update the machines
with compaqs you would hit F10 to get to setup then disable the floppy if you get to a windows prompt browse to c:\windows then c:\windows\temp
then do a del *.* in that temp directory ONLY!!
then reboot and see what happens
did you set the jumper(s) properly? more then likely not make sure if its on the master secondary ide that it is set as master if its connected to your hard drive cdrom is slave and hard drive is master as far as the jumpers are concerned, also make sure the cable is not backwards
