OK - I'm withdrawing, and requesting you close the the question!
When you search on the Web and you find statements like "MSDE works with all flavours of windows", and you have actually installed MSDE on Win 2000 Pro and Win 2000 Advanced Server, you immediately expect that it will also install...
MSDE 1.0 Unattended install fails on MS Small Business Server 2000
I am using MSDEX86.EXE with standard unattend.iss file (with no changes)
to install MSDE on MS Small Business Server 2000, using standard batch command
start /wait msdex86 -s -a -f1 "c:\unattend.iss"
Yet install fails...
Along lines of importing the problem form plus relevant tables/queries into a new DB, I decided to build form again from scratch, combining contents of original forms onto a new TAB control from the original spearate forms...
In doing this I realised I had an unqualified subform (i.e. values in...
Hi Eupher
Good idea -
I imported the form plus relevant tables and queries into a completely new db - and the problem happens again...
Other ideas?
Thanks.
Situation 1
===========
Form with tab control and some fields on the control.
If form is in "design", and then opened, you can make updates in the fields,
move to next record - no problem - and this is what is required.
Situation 2
===========
If form is opened directly (i.e. not first having...

Till yesterday I had a similar problem (except using Drive Image 2002). See my post: http://www.tek-tips.com/viewthread.cfm?qid=1063675&page=1
for the solution using BartPE.
Regards
OK - I now have this sorted.
BartPE: http://www.nu2.nu/pebuilder/
and Drive image 2002 plugin: http://www.bootcd.us/BartPE_Plugin_Details/270/PowerQuest-Drive-Image-2002.html
provide the solution.
Thanks
Fewer PCs now come with floppy drives.
You install Drive Image 2002 on such a PC.
Drive Image gets you to make emergency boot floppy (2-disk set)
(You typically restore a disk image using these floppies by:
- booting from the first,
- and then inserting the second floppy when asked to do so)...
Sorted! THANK YOU mwolf00 and luds!
Ps: the problem must have come about because I had started the design using frames, which I then abandoned in favour of using templates - at which point I failed to blank out the "target" box.
Thanks again!
Apologies to trouble you with what will seem a simple or stupid question!
I just built my first website - it only has HOME page plus 4 other pages.
Website opens fine on HOME page.
TROUBLE IS:
when you click for one of the other pages, a new browser window opens - and then if you click for...
Thanks SonofEmidec1100!
It is something similar - but anyway problem now solved - users did re-installs of app. on clients that did not work, and did not follow all the install steps - so non-working clients had missing important bits.
Thanks for your assist.
could it be:
1. MDAC problem
2. something to do with the profiles on the different PC clients (the PC clients have Win2k and Office2k) installed
???
Has anyone come across this before, and how did they resolve it?
Many thanks for your help!
Access 2000 application on client can log-in to SQL server using one of the SQL server logins.
From some of the PC clients you can log in with the application using ANY of the SQL Server logins (this is what is required!)
The problem is that from other clients, the login attempt by the...
How do you trap what I might call "form-level" errors in Access 2000?
You have an Access 2000 form, as front end to your SQL database, containing related tables (say CUSTOMER and ORDER)
You do not want the user to be able to delete a Customer for whom Orders exist - and you set up...
For Office 2000 (and therefore Access 2000), you have Disk 1 of Office 2000 Developer - is that what you need? The folder on the CD that you may need is "odetools\v9\accessrt".
Hope this helps.
I might be missing it CClint - but I have looked at the 2 Threads you mention and I don't think they tell me how to put my application icons INSIDE a folder on the desktop (instead of just leaving the icons on the desktop - which I can now do!). Can you be more specific?
Many thanks!
