Access 2000 application on client can log-in to SQL server using one of the SQL server logins.

From some of the PC clients you can log in with the application using ANY of the SQL Server logins (this is what is required!)

The problem is that from other clients, the login attempt by the application produces the SQL Server login box.

Any ideas why this might be ?

Client is Win2000.

All help would be appreciated!

could it be:
1. MDAC problem
2. something to do with the profiles on the different PC clients (the PC clients have Win2k and Office2k) installed
???

Has anyone come across this before, and how did they resolve it?

Many thanks for your help!

No ideas anyone...??? (PS: is anyone out there ??!!! )

Any ideas, thoughts, solutions will be appreciated. Thanks.
:)

Maybe the clients are set to use a connection protocol such as named pipes that is not activated on the server ?

Thanks SonofEmidec1100!

It is something similar - but anyway problem now solved - users did re-installs of app. on clients that did not work, and did not follow all the install steps - so non-working clients had missing important bits.

Thanks for your assist.
