Are you using real Compaq drives? as Compaq doesnt do a 80GB drive! (36GB, 72GB, 146GB but not an 80GB!) And if they arent Compaq drives they wont have Compaq supported firmware on them and then its unlikely that they will work reliably with the Compaq controller! G -

John, Had trouble finding anything on this really old controller, but in the end all you have to do is go to www.hp.com and in the search box put "smart-2dh" and for me the 3rd entry is the manual for this controller. i assumed you really meant the 2dh rather than a 2h controller G -

Have a look at Virtual replicator from Comapq/HP it may do what you want to do!, but its probably cheaper to do a full backup, trash the current config, recreate the new one and restore the backup! G -
