did it always do this or did you install something and nthen it start to happen well you can always try last known good and a sys restore to get to las known good hit f8 on boot and pick it from the list. to do a sys restore you go to start all programs, Access. system tools and sys restore
i depend what os are you tring to go to? if it is win 2k not mmuch is needed but if you go to say 98 or me you need to do a low level format (debug)to get rid of you ntfs par.
in the proprs of the printer under spooling change the spool data format from emf to raw the will disable spooling and will send the info right to the printer
make sure that the cartage is not expired the dat e is by the contac also some time there is a film left on the cartage use a coffie filter damp with distilled h2o and wipe the contacs on both the cartage and the printer also make sure that the contacs are not missed aligned or damaged!!
try to delete the spool32.exe and the spoolss.dll and then reinstall them of the insall cd for a clean one evern if you pull new ones out of cabs and did not delete the old ones frist the badness will seep to the new ones also the cabs may be bad
check you sys res. most printer use hpa tech.this uses alot of sys res. also the 7.0 may see it as a larger print job. defrag your sys and clean temp files
uninstall the driver and reinstall it that will fix it. the driver is bad get the new one off www.hp.com also do a config page and see if it prints right if so then the driver will fix the issue
hey you can use the hp desk jet 2500 win 2k driver. this is a 2000/2500 driver and at the end of the install it will ask what printer you have!! you tool box will not work due to the fact that bi die is not avilable in win 2k.
