Now that's an outside the box answer! Unfortunately would be cordless phones on an analog port but now you've cured my tunnel vision on making the BCM do the job and got me thinking.
I could put an off hook detector on the analog port and insert a dial tone from a tone generator in the loop...
I've successfully set up a SIP trunk to Anveo in hopes of transitioning away from the POTS line from my telco. I've assigned a destination code of "8", a route of "001" to "BlocA" and a second dial tone prefix of "8". My set is prime lined to "I/C" since I believe one can't prime line to a sip...
Saw the post this morning and just happened to need a trip to my local computer store. Not a big box store but a mom and pop that I've known for years and trust.
I asked them about the Kingston drives. They said we used to stock them but since the price of better quality(?) drives have come...
Curly,
Could you explain in a little more detail how you're using FindMe FollowMe and SIP that you mentioned in your sentence.
"To get around the SIP app not available for BCM and have a separate SIP line (extension of the main SIP line) on my mobile and use FindMe FollowMe to call that SIP line.
Curly,
The big black components in the trunk circuit section are marked RT2, RT3 etc. Checked out the standard reference designator for components and RT is a thermistor so I guess their purpose is to limit inrush current on the trunk circuit.
RR
P.S.
I wasn't a lazy (although my wife with some...
Link Data Sheet PDF for SI3050 and SI3019
Firebird, thanks for the picture I've added labels to a few more sections.
Curly, I have done a little tracing and found which section belongs to which trunk as per the pic. I don't think the 4 big black components in the trunk section are relays. I...
Has anyone here ever attempted component level repair? Two issues. First one should be easy.
I've got a BCM50 that won't keep the date and time after power down. It always reverts to Feb 6th 2036 and I don't know if I'll live long enough to see the calendar catch up to it[wink]. Taking a look...
Can you reinitialize the system for one market copy coretel to another location, reinitialize for another market and then compare coretel and see if there are differences. Can't think of anything else to locate what you're looking for. And do the same for /nn/bin/dsp. But I highly doubt that...
Just taking a wild guess here but would the tone parameters (frequency, level, duration, cadence etc.) for each market still be in a table that would tell the DSP to produce the desired tones?
Good catch Curly. I never bothered trying to launch a page from a desktop shortcut only from a bookmark in the browser which worked fine.
Your vb script definitely solves that problem. If you let the browser save the login credentials (at least with firefox) it will auto fill the ID and...
You can put anything in the Kiosk name. The docs say that it's only used for entry in the CDR logs.
I guess their intent may have been so you can check how fast the pages are answered since you would have the time the new page was sent and the time it was cancelled.
Hmmm, Tek-Tips wants to mangle the url so just add an extra "t" to the "htp" part
URL with user name and password:
htp://<nnpage>:<nnpagePassword>@<BCMIPAddress>/Voicemail-cgi-bin/BCMPage?station=<KioskName>&page=<xy>&status=<action>...
That would be the easiest and could be stand alone and battery powered.
A press of the button powers the unit up, requests a page, cancels page after a predetermined delay and then powers down.
In this scenario depending on the amount of use a li-po battery would last a long time on one charge...
Curly,
I used an ESP8266 (sort of an arduino compatible with wifi capability) for the test. It was just a proof of concept.
That unit would be great as it's wifi but would need a power supply as battery power wouldn't last long at all.
Since I just wanted to trigger a page I programmed it to...
Goofing around with Advanced Paging today to discover the capabilities.
The Cookoo clock that chimed every hour sure got the wifes attention. Didn't last long though :^(
In going through the documentation for APPP I noticed the mention if a CAB (Customer Assistance Box?).
Can't find much info...
Is this a TTY device for the deaf?
Pardon my ignorance but the only TTY devices that I'm familiar with have acoustic couplers where you insert the telephone handset into the muffs on the TTY device.
If this is the case any phone digital or analog should work as long as the handset fits into...
Firebird, I agree with exsmogger. Vi is more than a bit frustrating to use unless you use it every day.
Even though it is a program available on the BCM you wouldn't happen to have a copy of nano available for us would you?
