Stupid issue cannot hear anything
this will never work using the 2003 server as the dhcp server the 3com phones need to gateway through a hardware based gateway ,the problem points to the dhcp change made- metronetworx

NBX network efficiency
the nbx in ethernet mode will not communicate layer 3 so if you have softphones or remote users then you have to operate in ip mode, the 3com nbx will push multicast no mater which mode your in this can create network activity but it is only multicast traffic.- metronetworx
