I have an SRG which connects to a CS100 back at the main office. All my IP phones run through the SRG, even the 2 or 3 at the main office. The register back to the CS1000 and run over the CS1000 unless the link between the sites fails. The problems comes in that I now wish to reassign a phone...
Thank you to you both. Each of your answers fixed half of my problem.
It seems odd to me that the auto-login checkbox is really just an auto-login available checkbox, but that's why they call it learning.
Also, thanks to GHTROUT for the collection of Avaya/Nortel knowledge on the website...
Some Background:
I'm a network guy who's taken over the administration of our (350+ node) phone system and am getting ready to do a test deploy of VoIP. (Welcome the future!) I've got a few phones configured and making calls on the network. I feel like I’m making real progress on these phones...
I'm just rolling out VoIP to pilot before we put in a new location. We're running on a CS1000e Rel 5.5. Our vendor spec'd us out 1220s as the phone of choice. These only have 10/100 ethernet, and we're wired for GigE. If we went with the 1220s we'd be committing to either using 2 switchports...
So, apparently, when I said no loose amphenols, I meant that having the retaining bar in place doesn't actually guarantee that the connectors are actually retained. the amphenol was just a bit loose, and after de-wiggling it the phones are magically alive again.
Thank you for your...
I hate going to the vendor, but at this point I can't imagine it's anything but hardware failure. No BUG messages, no lightining strikes, and no loose amphenols, but thanks for giving me a few things to check on.
This forum is a godsend for someone picking up the Nortel with no formal training...
Just when you thought it couldn't get any curiouser:
I have now discovered that the ring connector from 4 1 5 0 and the tip from 4 1 5 1 complete the circuit for the extension assigned to 4 1 5 0. It is cabled correctly to the punchdown, this just started happening today, no physical or logical...
Hi, guys.
I'm running into an issue where it seems an extension has died on me. First I thought the phone had a physical failure, but that's not it. The set is not the problem.
Then I think, well maybe someone jostled a wire in a wiring closet somewhere. Sure enough, my...

I don't have my system up in front of me right now but it seems likely to be the right commands to me.
Janaya's suggestion also looks good.
Thanks for the quick replies. Coming from the TeleVantage/Software interface side of things it's always a shock to me when I can't do things on a hardware phone. If I can only shift through 2 screens of 2 bottons, that's what I'll have to do. I will see if having the display is worth losing a...
I meant a 3903 in all instances. Sorry for the inaccurate post. I reviewed it and everything, just missed the 3903/3904 mixup.
I guess my (newly revised) question still stands. Will the 3903 support multiple BFS appearances?
Thanks for the quick reply so far.
I was "upgrading" a user from their old 2008 phone and wanted to retain the former phone's functionality.
I have put in place a 3904, but am concerned that it only supports the use of a single instance of BFS.
Will it be possible for me to program the user's new 3904 to display the BFS of...
