    ODBC driver's for XIR2 (Oracle)

Hi, Sorry to disagree but that's not what's happening for me at the moment. For example:- I create a report, say report1.rpt against an Oracle ODBC named DATABASE1 - within the DSN setup I tell it to use a database called Oracle-Test. I run the report and get the data. I now close Crystal...

    ODBC driver's for XIR2 (Oracle)

Hi, Thanks for the response,I've not used the native connection before but correct me if I'm wrong. If I use the native oracle connection, then the database details are hardcoded into the report. Such that if I'm releasing from DEV>TEST>LIVE then each time I must modify the report. If the...

    ODBC driver's for XIR2 (Oracle)

I hope you don't mind a couple of questions: 1. I don't yet have XIR2, current v9. But was wondering does XRR2 install it's own ODBC for Oracle (as it did with v9) 2. Is the XIR2 driver, the recommended ODBC driver to use (as compared to Oracles own driver)? 3. Assuming the above is true, if...

    sub-report within a sub-report

The main report contains a master list within a tabular format. And for each row then links to another report (sub-report 1) which is within a singular A4 format - on-demand. This on-demand report itself is within a master-detail*2 relationship, i.e. This report footer links to two further...

Working with crystal 8.5 I have a main report which is linked to an on-demand subreport. I then want that on-demand sub-report to contain a number of sub-reports itself but these are lost when the main sub-report. Any one got any idea how to get around this, can an external link be added that...

    Including Windows login on report

Steve, If you're unable to put together the DLL yourself (or someone else within your company on your behalf), then drop me a note via the FAQ comment facility and I'll see what I can do. As to the faq itself, some should only follow the advice given in the Seagate PDF and cut and paste the...

Printing the User IDwho printed the Report

I've just created a faq, it supplies a UFL which will allow you to add a function which will return the NT username of the person running the report. FAQ149-1283 Also, the existing crystal function "CurrentDateTime" should return the Date and Time the report was run.

Two simple UFL functions to return username and machinename

With Crystal Reports it is possible to write your own functions within a library, Crystal refers to these as UFL's. One approach is to write your function within Visual Basic and make the resulting DLL available to Crystal. The following link provides further information as to how a UFL should...

How to avoid the right side cutting off from the report?

Can you supply more details i.e. is the report landscape/portrait, I assume it's printing out in the same orientation as in Crystal. What crystal viewer are you using in the browser, i.e. Active-X, DHTML etc? When viewing in Crystal/browser are you using the same PC/printer? If you can, try...

    Permission Question

If you are running your reports on NT, you could try taking the login username of the user on the PC and assuming match that against your table of users. You can get the NT username by using a UFL function. If you want, I could post the appropriate code.
