    I have no problem buying a few 18D's. I just wanted to know if it's possible if I bought one of those cheap little caller ID boxes they sell at radio shack, plugged it into the incoming phone line before the phone, if the caller ID box would display the phone number like my two 18D's do.

    Just plugged in one of the lines to the 400EC processor - CALLER ID WORKS! I just have to change the button descrptions on the phones - easy. I feel stupid. Thanks sysconsultant for asking me the "idiot" question. It worked.

    Called Verizon. They said the Caller ID is on all 3 lines and that they'll put a trouble ticket in. I'm going to bring one of my regular home phones in to see if the caller ID works on that - bypassing the entire phone system at the line. I'll know on Monday if it works.
