    NEC DSX-80/160 Expansion

Thanks @CoralTech. Today, I decided to go back through and re-check everything. I was *sure* I had put the switch in run mode, but when I checked it was not. It's usually something dumb, and even IT techs are not immune. Thanks for answering, yes, once I set the switch to run, everything is...

Bumping to see if anyone has any thoughts on something to try. Thanks!

    NEC DSX-80/160 Expansion

I installed the station card today. Bought it from a seller on Amazon and it has a warranty. I installed it, then went in software and configured as 16EISU. Connected new extension 316 to it. The phone lights up and shows the name I assigned, but none of the buttons work and it doesn't show...

    NEC DSX-80/160 Expansion

I have an NEC DSX-80/160 that I have inherited supporting. My experience in the past is with Nortel CICS and CallPilot. This system currently has a 16-port station card (16 ESIU)in slot 1 and an 8-port CO Card (8 COIU)in slot 3. There are open slots in the cabinet. I use DSK System...

Info Mailbox for Hunt Group overflow

Actually, I just found in the manual that you can say no messages (like you said above) when you choose alternate greeting. Thanks for pointing me in the right direction!

Info Mailbox for Hunt Group overflow

I can forward the system in a cardboard box! Good question about the info mailbox. Is there another way, besides using an info mailbox, to *prevent* someone from leaving a message? Even with a greeting that says, "DON'T!" they will.

Info Mailbox for Hunt Group overflow

CICS with CP100 When hunt group 291 doesn't answer, CICS set to forward to CP system extension (235). I want the call to go to info mailbox set up for ext 291. Instead the call goes to the general delivery mailbox. I missed a step somewhere. Help?

    Another Toll Fraud Question

thread799-1782364 If a line appears on a phone, does that bypass the class of service dialing restrictions in the system?

    FastRAD over Ethernet

No problem! We all face that frustration from time to time. I do user support for a living so I am very familiar with communication issues. I appreciate the extraordinary support you provide here--quick to answer and always good information. Have a great day!

    FastRAD over Ethernet

@rrmass: Just as an FYI: I connected a router to the NetBurner serial port to test and I can reach it without any problems. FastRAD just seems to have some issue with the "flavor" of serial that the NetBurner speaks. As I noted, there are no posts that mention successfully connecting to...

    FastRAD over Ethernet

@Curlycord WOW! That's pretty harsh. I didn't say I wouldn't do what you asked, I just haven't had a chance yet. I have to build a crossover cable to be able to connect to the NetBurner. Also, I don't have a laptop with 32 bit Windows right at hand, so I have to get that, as well. Hope you...

    FastRAD over Ethernet

I would add that the only *successful* posts in Tek-Tips about this used Digi One SP adapters. Maybe the NetBurner just isn't compatible.

    FastRAD over Ethernet

Curly, I've used mtty and successfully communicated between two different computers through the NetBurner (a slight variation of the testing protocol in the link in my original post -- that called for a loop back to the same computer.). That testing makes me very confident that the virtual...

    FastRAD over Ethernet

Is it possible to connect via serial to FastRAD without using the Remote Utilities? Just to troubleshoot, etc.?

    FastRAD over Ethernet

Sorry, I misunderstood your question. The adapter is Ethernet to Serial and works with Netburner software. You use the software to create a virtual serial port that is mapped to the IP address and port of the NetBurner, and the RAD connects to the serial port on the adapter. I suppose I...

    FastRAD over Ethernet

The test I did originally to confirm the settings and NetBurner were OK went: PC -> Virtual Serial Port (IP based) -> NetBurner Ethernet port -> Netburner -> Netburner Serial port - Another PC Using MTTY, it communicated fine both directions, So I am confident that the virtual port software...

    FastRAD over Ethernet

I got excited about this possibility, but sadly, it didn't change anything. I also set the wait timer to 0 (wait forever). This is what I am currently using: https://files.engineering.com/getfile.aspx?folder=01523efe-5546-465e-81a6-89a88b8d1607&file=netburner_serial1.png

    FastRAD over Ethernet

Actually, I did test the Netburner (see the link in my original post). It worked fine between two computers. Thanks.

    FastRAD over Ethernet

    - Browser Tool - Com 3 (the virtual com port) - Direct - 9600 - Connect Results: Initializing COM port 3 RAD did not respond If I pull the serial cable from the Netburner and connect directly to COM 1 on the computer (and set Browser to Port Com1), it connects. I think there must be some...
