...it's back. The new certificate is good for another year. And hopefully IT have scribbled 'Oct 24 IPOKB cert' on a post-it note and won't lose it this time.
No, I don't code the software. No, I don't design the phones. Please, don't shoot the messenger.
Oh the horror...
In accordance with the Avaya fashion for letting certificates expire this year, the certificate on the IP Office Knowledgebase has expired. I've altered the IT team that look after these kind of things, so hopefully the issue will be resolved shortly. So rest assured, the...
The address for the IP Office Knowledgebase has changed from http://marketingtools.avaya.com/knowledgebase to https://ipofficekb.avaya.com.
The old address now shows a redirect page which we will keep in place until September next year to allow time for people to update any bookmarks and...
I've just been informed of the passing of Intrigrant, one of the truly outstanding members of this forum. He has been answering questions and assisting with issues for as long as the IP Office product has had a forum here and up until last month. Though his FAQs, that support will continue for...
The public statement from Avaya.
TO: AVAYA SALES, PARTNERS, AND CUSTOMERS
REGARDING: RECENT NEWS ARTICLES ABOUT AVAYA H.323 PHONE VUNERABILITY
You may have seen or received questions about a security issue with certain Avaya desktop phones due to recent news articles.
This concern is...
Hopefully you clicked on the feedback link to tell someone.
No I don't write all the manuals. No I don't code the software. No I don't design the phones.
Some of you will know that I lurk here in my role as IP Office Knowledgebase maintainer.
We have recently had two reports of people with valid Avaya support accounts (SSO log ins) being unable to use those to access the Technical Manuals section of the web site.
Before I go and tackle our IT...
Whoa there horsie. Let me stop those runaways before they causes damage.
We have no intention of moving the IP Office Knowledgebase to PDF only. The questions were purely related to the downloadable "IP Office Documentation" version.
Nor are we dropping the documentation DVD, just asking...
A couple of weeks ago we had a meeting with two IP Office trainers to discuss various IP Office documentation issues.
One thing that I picked out of it as it falls into my area was that they both access the IP Office documents by downloading the whole set of PDFs at GA and then using that set...
A good idea and in fact a message page has been scripted, I just haven't worked out how best to deploy it on the site (except most definitely not a popup).
"I'm pretty sure most users of knowledgebase don't look here." - even with my Avaya loyalty hat firmly on I would say more look here than...
During the publishing of the IP Office Release 9.1 material, we upgraded the third-party software that the IP Office Knowledgebase site uses for its search functions. Unfortunately, at the end of last week it was spotted that searches for any word that consists of letters and numbers were...
Many thanks Peter, I'll look at that.
Most (okay all) of the search indexes haven't been updated yet so will return a lot of page not found errors at the moment. That will correct shortly. However, I don't think that's the cause of the problem you're seeing so will investigate.
Indeed, well spotted.
It is still work in progress with updated docs and translations still arriving and being posted daily. The target for completion is next Monday but the close proximty of Christmas vacations forced me to start early.
We have changed some of the structure of how the site...
To anyone who was inconvienced I would like to apologise. For a reason not yet determined, the IP Office Knowledgebase server became unavailable for approxiamtely 6 hours today. It now appears to be operating as expected again. We are sorry for the interruption.
bah bah bumh Avaya"
Sorry but I'm now required to say that at the start of all communication of any kind. Just saying hello to people in the office has become a real drag these days. :-)
The whole IP Office team has in the last year been migrating from their old tracking system (Clearquest) to...
They are having issues on the knpowledgebase."
pray tell and I'll have a look. Was reading the one-X Mobile Preferred for IP Office docs (there also an admin guide) yesterday for my own edification. Added a few more links in order to specifically make the one-X Mobile Preferred for IP Office (I...
Dear All,
The issue was fixed yesterday though we are now investigating the possible causes.
Rest assured we have plenty of people at Avaya, I know, they were all copied on the emails.
My apology for the delay - back from several weeks of cycling up large hills.
Avaya IT assummed from the reported 404 errors that it was a missing content error on my part and awaited my return. I have identified that the fault is with any pages that use PHP to write the page content and so...
tlpeter,
"Why is the knowledgebase news changed?
I only see recent docs.
In the past all docs where there after clicking on "even more" "
Your question did register, however it has taken a while to track down one of the problems.
We have pruned the list. It now only goes back to the start...
