What to do when VFP is not alive anymore?

I to have been developing in fox since FoxBase. While I still plan to keep developing in VFP, I'm looking at aome alternatives. One that looks interesting is Microsoft's Light Switch. It's been in public beta for a while. It looks like a good learning tool that can get you started with .net...

    Integrate ICverify

After a lot of expiraminting with the settings for the card swipe reader, I found that if I only read track one from the credit card VFP works as expected. Since all I need is track one, problem solved.

    Integrate ICverify

I'm attempting to integrate ICverify credit card processing software with VFP 9. The first problem that I've run into is with the card swipe device. I set up a simple form with a text field to hold the contents of the swipe. When I swipe a valid credit card I get the correct information from the...

    System Restore

I tried FIXMBR. No help. Still get the black screen after the Windows XP logo screen both in Regular and Safe modes. I've now checked 3 PCs and all pass hardware diagnostics. All report that this problem started yesterday.

    System Restore

I've received numerous reports of this today. Seems like it started yesterday. Maybe a bad Windows Update or a virus?

Prevent users in XP from changing network password

Yes, I've checked the GPOs and the first thing I did was to create a test user.I've stumped a few MCSEs who have looked at this. I currently have a call into M$ tech support.

Prevent users in XP from changing network password

Yes, after making the change they can login to the network with their new password. The old password can no longer be used. The new password is also being picked up by Outlook and Outlook OWA so I assume that it's being changed in AD.

Prevent users in XP from changing network password

Yes, they enter their current network password and then enter a new one and verify it, They are even told that the new password cannot be the same as any of the 24 previous ones.

Prevent users in XP from changing network password

One of our users just showed me that they could change their network login password by pressing Ctrl-Alt-Del in XP and click on Change Password. Server OS is Windows 2003 R2 and Active Directory has the user accounts marked with "user cannot change password". What am I missing here? Is something...

Check for and copy updated version of program

Thank you. That is exactly what I needed.

Check for and copy updated version of program

I've attempted to do that using the "Run" command to do the copy but the black screen that comes up when I shell out to DOS confuses the users.

Check for and copy updated version of program

I would like to be able to open a VFP program on a local PC and check for an updated version on the server. Once found I would like to overwrite the program on the local PC without getting a "File in use" error. I cannot run directly from the server as the local PCs are often not reattached to...

    End-of-File won't show true

Thanks all. I think everyone is missing the point. The same problem exists when I use the VFP Foundation Class for record navigation in both VFP 6 & 9. I've recreated the table as both a free table and as part of the database with a different name and entered the records again to test. I've...

    End-of-File won't show true

I'm using the plain old Visual FoxPro Foundation Class. I've tried using: IF EOF() GO BOTTOM ELSE SKIP IF EOF() SKIP -1 ENDIF ENDIF THISFORM.REFRESH

    End-of-File won't show true

I have a simple table that is part of a database. I've created a form with a couple of fields from the table and the navigation controls from the FFC. The first, last and previous buttons work as they should. The next button works correctly until it reaches end-of-file. After displaying the...

    VFP6 Slow Response after quit

Thanks again Steve. We removed it there also. Since the task manager shows plenty of RAM unused and almost no CPU time being used, I still think that it's a memory leak or a file lock not being released on the server. I'ts also possible that one of Microsoft's recent updates messed with a DLL...

    VFP6 Slow Response after quit

Thank you Steve. I've actually disabled and then uninstalled the anti virus software on the PCs that are affected without fixing the problem. I was wondering if maybe it has something to do with the old "Opp Locks" settings on the server? I haven't seen anything about Windows 2003 Server.
