    # sendmail -bq (Kills all running sendmail daemons) # sendmail stop ( Gracefull kill) To prevent sendmail from starting at boot, change the MAIL_SEVERS=1 to 0 in your mail configuration file. On HP-UX this file is located in /etc/rc.config.d/mailservs
