    Legato Networker and Debian-Linux ???

As a big Debian person, and strong knowledge of the other distros, you should be able to run it. You might have to install some libraries for dependancies, and a little tweaking, but I don't see it being a major problem. You can install RedHat rpm's an a Debian box with little problem, ya...

    Index Backup (/nsr/index/machinename)

Hello, I use Legato on several differnt machines, and never had a problem with this before. I do similar backups on another set of machines and do't have this problem there either (2 seperate Legato servers - seperate libraries, etc.) At any rate, here's my problem: I recently added an NT...

    E-Mail Notifications

Hello, I use Networker to backup a bunch of servers from a single server. Every day, I read the email notifications it sends me. What I want to do, is have the saveset or pool or group name in the subject line of the email notification. Is there a way to do this? Thanks.

    Networker requesting for wrong pool

It's probably trying to write the index and bootstrap to the default pool. Try taking out the entries for savesets in pool and group. They are not needed here since they are configured in the clients section. I had the same problem too, and this fixed it. ...Frd

Select query always empty when using where

Are there actually quotes around each field in the db? I'm thinking there's a space, or a special character that's not showing up. Of course, this would make your query not return any rows. If there ARE quotes in the table, you will probably have to search on the quotes too. ...frd

    2 Instances of MSSQL

Hmmmmmmmm. Thanks for the tip. I've been trying that, but it doesn't appear to be working. In Enterprise Manager, I see 2 servers. One is labeled "NAMEOFMACHINE" and the other is "NAMEOFMACHINE\2000". How do I find out the proper instance name to use? Thanks.

    2 Instances of MSSQL

We installed MSSQL2000 on a machine that already had MSSQL7. We plan on using both db's until we migrate everything to MSSQL2000. In the meantime, we need the backups. We keep getting failure notices, and I believe, it's because Networker is confused as to which server it should be connecting...

How do I backup a SQL Database???

You need to install the MSSQL module. There is a 30 day trial, and then you have to register a full version. It works very well for me. Read the documentation that came with Networker to see how to use the trial. ...frd

Adding files to a MySQL database

I'd assume, you can have the SQL db store a reference to a link (file) that is stored in flat file space. Then, just use the reference to the link in your scripts for the webpage.

Well, you need to update your grant tables to allow localhost access. That should fix your problem. Check out www.devshed.com for help on this. Go to the MySQL section. It's either in the administrator part, or the beginner part. As for 4.0, I THINK it is available, you can check on their...

    Legato Backup Schedule

You may also want to check to make sure that "Auto Start" is enabled in the Groups area. This would cause it to skip too. In your messages, is it saying that it skipped it at all? Do you see any entry for what should have run in your logs?
