Greetings helpers!
So I have another questions regarding my ongoing issues with my off-site L180 tape library.
Using robtest I was using 's s' scan slots to see what they contained. I was noticing that some of the tapes had a source address that corresponded with a tape drive.
See below for...
Does this bad/weak spring also cause the drives to not be able to eject the tape completely?
I had this issue today and used your above solution and it worked in allowing the library to see that it was actually empty. But when it tried to load a tape it couldn't eject it properly.
Thanks
They are IBM drives. I had a tech remove it manually and put it back in the reserved slot...looks like it either put it back in there or the robot still thinks that it is in that drive. I will try to power cycle tip.
I found out that the plate that contains the identity(barcode?) was not replaced on the new drives, so the L180 could not see where they were located.
That has been replaced...now one of the drives works, while the other has a cleaning tape stuck in it. It stinks working on hardware that is a...
Greetings,
We have a total of 5 LTO2 drives in our L180. Two drives had to be replaced for failure to release tapes. We had a service tech replace the two drives with refurbished drives. After rebooting the L180 we get errors with the two replaced drives. FSC 3e1b when running a drive...
Greetings,
I have run into an issue while replacing two LT02 drives. I had an on site tech replace the two drives which are using fiber connection. I ran /usr/openv/volmgr/bin/tpautoconf -report_disc and verified the missing/new drives. I swapped the old for the new using the correct paths...
Thanks, I wasn't sure if there was a more detailed log of the errors. The examine FSC log on the front panel has the data:
#33A9 None 1416
then
#3384 None 2865
then
#30B2 None 3
then
Fsc #3309 None 47
It looks like it stops just under the first cleaning tape, I'll see if I can pop the...
We have an eject_offsite script that runs in the morning, that must be where the problem occurs since it puts full tapes in the cap. I'll disable the script until we can figure out the cause.
Thank you.
John
Greetings again helpful people! I'm having a reoccurring error code on one of our storage units, the STK 9740. It seems to be getting an inop error in the middle of the night and it is saying the error code is FSC - 3309 on the display. After I re-initialize or shut down and restart it begins...
Greetings, first time posting... I really appreciate this web site. My co-worker and I just recently noticed a discrepancy in our L180 in regards to the number of tapes recognized by the robot and the actual number of tapes in the robot. Our L180 is in a remote location therefore it is rare...
