I've got two bizarre problems on Internet Explorer that are driving me absolutely nuts.
Intermittently, I am unable to get to any of the Google pages - google.com, .co.uk, you name it. I get the standard "Page cannot be displayed" error. I initially thought this was a DNS problem...
Hi,
We have a problem with Windows 2000 Professional workstations. We have several Excel spreadsheets with a large number of links in them. If you open them on a Windows 2000 Professional workstation, the machine appears to lock up. It will eventually come back to life, but it literally...
Read the article "Q241538: How Message Formats Affect Internet Mail" on Microsoft's Knowledge Base. The section "Sending and Receiving Concerns" explains why these type of attachments are created.
Basically, as joegz explained, these problems are all related to sending mail...
Mark,
Thanks for the info; appreciate it! I'll try installing a C3PO and see what happens.
This is three individual machines that we're talking about. The problem occurs on the machine and is not related to the user (at least not to the user's GroupWise account, anyway!). We're running...
Hi,
Can anyone help me with this? I'm really stuck!
I'm having a problem with three different Windows 98 machines. When we try and install GroupWise we get the error "LoadLibrary Failed C:\Novell\GroupWise\Gwdt31.dll".
I've tried all the usual - GroupWise Cleaning Agent...
Hi,
We're looking at some new tape technologies for a replacement backup solution. We've narrowed it down to Ultrium or SuperDLT, and are trying to decide which one best suits our requirements.
If anyone has any thoughts/experiences/opinions they'd like to share with me regarding these two...
Hi,
I've recently installed a Cisco 2950T-24 switch, using mainly the default settings.
I'm concerned that when I ping the switch itself from a port plugged directly into the switch, I get a relatively slow ping speed with a regular blip:
bytes=32 time=7ms TTL=255
bytes=32 time=8ms TTL=255...
I'll keep an eye out for this patch. Despite having the master replica local to the server, the problem has mysteriously cropped up again after two weeks of it working fine. I've also got another new server that I've just installed which is experiencing the identical problem, even with the...
We seem to have resolved the problem.
Both the servers (the server that does the backup and the other server that it is backing up) are in a remote office, at the end of a relatively slow link. We're not having any problems with DS synchronisation or excessive traffic on that link. However, I...
No other agents are running on the main server, which is trying to do the backup. The remote server runs the GroupWise Agent for ARCserve. I haven't tried unloading it to see if it is affecting backups but will do for tonight.
I've already tried patch LO91560, but I have just applied it...
Bill,
As well as configuring the SCSI card for multiple LUN support, you also need to configure the driver.
In the STARTUP.NCF file, add the command LUN_ENABLE=FF to the end of the load line for the Adaptec driver. For example:
LOAD AIC782U2.HAM SLOT=2 LUN_ENABLE=FF
In the AUTOEXEC.NCF...
Hi,
I'm running into the above problem on another one of my recent ARCserve 7 installations, and unfortunately it's another one that CA Tech Support have been unable to help me with.
It's a NetWare 5.1, SP2A server (we were having the same problem with SP1). We are running ARCserve 7...
I know I'm answering my own question here, which I'm sure is bad etiquette. But I thought you might be interested to know the final resolution, having all been so helpful.
Having read thoroughly through the system documentation of my Dell PowerEdge 2500, I've discovered it has three different...
The only time I've ever seen anything like this was during a transition period of one of our networks, when the routers and servers were using different subnet masks. It's too late in the evening for me to remember exactly how this worked, but it might be worth checking out.
Good luck.
Pocket
Thanks again for everyone's tips.
We've finally found the problem. We were using an Adaptec 29160 Ultra160 SCSI card in both servers that were having the issue. I've swapped this out for an Adpatec 2940U2W card and have now run three successful backups in a row, which is definitely a first...
Thanks for all the ideas and suggestions.
I'm running NetWare 5.1 SP3A. The box is a Dell PowerEdge 2500, with an Adaptec 29160 SCSI card and an external HP SureStore DAT 40x6. Both ARCserve and HP's websites show the device as compatible and we've run it without problems on other boxes...
Hi,
I've got a shiny new NetWare 5.1 server that I'm trying to backup with ARCserve 7 for NetWare.
My backup starts to run and looks like it is going to finish successfully. Sometimes it will even complete a whole volume! But I always end up with it failing with the error "E1145 Media...
