Why is it always the telecoms guys fault when IP phones go down? If this was down to a few phones you could mirror a few ports & run WireShark to see the problem. On one site we ended up seperating the whole network so the IP500 was connected to its own switches with only the IP phones...
I have an IP500v2 & want to source the MOH from the spare SD slot. So I converted an MP3 file to WAV format in the correct format & uploaded it to the spare SD card slot. In advanced settings embedded file management I can see the file which is called holdmusic.wav. I have set the source to WAV...
Hi Guys a customer with a 406ds on 3-2-17 would like to run Microsoft OCS 2007r2. The Avaya is a 406v1 & the low release is due to old Alchemy pots still being used on it. Microsoft do not list the Avaya IP Office as being supported but it does not hurt to ask. Remember the old days = 9 for an...
Not recently I always left a back door on any install as customers have a habit of forgetting their log ins. When you uninstall check that all folders are deleted as this can cause a problem re logging on. There is a way that Avaya can give you the Log In details if you email them a certain file...
I have inherited a BCM50 for a customer who is a "good guy" so want to please him. I am more of an Avaya & Panasonic tech so be gentle with me. I have set services to manual on the night setting & ring group 003 with the PRI targets pointed at the group. In the ring group I have put the VM DN...
Thanks guys but at the end of the day I am going to have to go to site with a proper digital phone & my rusty laptop. As always it is a 2 day camel ride away but what the heck when your marching you're not fighting. Ta Ta
I need to make some minor changes on a new customers old system if you follow me.When i press "Program * #" I do not get as far as entering the password as the process is terminated at the #. I have double checked that this is X201 etc. Funny thing is the phone is a KX-T7730 so there must be no...
Thanks obtsystems. I have not enabled forward/transfer to CO disabled by default so cannot see this happening. I will get a hold of a surge protector & see if that makes a difference. The customer would like a UPS but only at my expense (this is your problem).
Thanks
John
Hi chaps I know this is a minor detail but here we go. I have installed an 824 with 2 lines & 24 extensions in a school 1 year ago. There are only 2 extensions with outside line access & everybody is happy. However both lines have locked on two seperate occasions & the only resolution has been a...
Perhaps not guys. I went into accounts to my admin account then "User Account Settings" & put the slider down to "Never Notify". Then reinstall the software & Robert is your uncle! Contact Store Installed & working away happily.
I have just installed an IP500v2 on 6-0-18 with voice mail 6-0-44 on Windows 7 Pro. I am trying to get contact store 7-8-16 to work but get a "permissions" error each time. I know this is not passed for Windows 7 has anybody resolved this or got it working. A pain in the butt to put the PC back...
Poor Terry he is a nice guy & its not his fault Avaya are rewriting the rules. He would be the sort of guy to buy you a pint. Although I have met him 3 times & he has yet to do this!!!
Perhaps I am being stupid here & cwc3 will have no hesitation in correcting me if this is the case. The default fitted internal modem in the TDA/TDE is an ISDN2 modem on X699.A 56K modem card can be fitted & the address for it is X599. So the options are to dial from an ISDN line using an ISDN...
Thanks obtsystems yes I know Panasonic neglected to tell us about compatability problems with new handsets on older firmware. I have come across this but it is usually things like "caller display" not working.
So I installed 2 CS KXTDA0141ce on the customers KXTDA100. They are using 4 KXTCA275UK phones & everyone is happy. I should have upgraded the FW it is still on R2 but it was a long day. Everything works very well for 5 weeks now customer is saying that the range has dropped off & they are losing...
Remember to set the time server IP address to 0.0.0.1 this means the IP500 internal clock does not look on the network for the time. Then set the time button up as described previously & it works as far back as 4.2.??. I put the button on the Reception phone but they all still rang in on Monday...
The latest version is the UPCMCv6-1-1-3R1 which still supports the KXTDA15/30. Your vendor should be able to supply a copy or access to the Panasonic download site.
