Looks like you are mixing up the Guest Coonection TMS and the integrated TMS that was added to Res with v4.1
The sptms... Are the integrated TMS procedures.
The sim and tmsinterface.dll are for the Guest Connection TMS product.
The Micros E7 system might be something to look at, especially if your DIY vb program doesn't work out. In 2010, the credit card rules are going to change and your credit card processor may not accept your vb program.
You may also have better luck with a different theme, but if you want it to look like RES 3.2 then updating the workstation configurations to not use the theme will do the trick.
Some WS5 systems use windows XP embedded. Most uses windows CE 6. Unless you have a program that is compiled for the intended operating system, it will not function.
A touch void should have a parent_dtl_id that is the same as the dtl_id of the voided item. I believe the 'R' is a reference entry and would be useful to display with the void.
