I saw that last night but thanks for the input. I think I figured it out over my lunch hour. Turns out my domain controller was setup in the wrong time zone but had the correct time. So after changing that it seems to have fixed my issue.
Thanks for all of the help!
Ok, so I installed Vista x64 Ultimate on my new computer I just built and it's working great except 1 problem - the time keeps moving ahead 2 hours. I have SP1 installed and it's on a domain. What's weird is it obviously sees the domain controller because it does not have the Internet Time...
If it continues after the drivers it could be a DNS problem which is probably easily solved by ipconfig /release then ipconfig /renew. Or make sure WINS is on :)
The "it is now safe to turn off your computer" is likely caused by a lack of an ACPI driver. If you go into the Device Manager and...
Wireless will have nothing to do with the download speed. You said your internet speed is only 2MB/s and even the ancient wireless was 11Mb/s which is faster than your internet download speed. Unless one is significantly less stable than the other the way that you receive the connection should...
I've been testing all of these applications and so far none of these seem to do what I want them to. I don't need it to compile into an msi file and the biggest issue I'm seeing is that none of the machines I need to push the executable to are on our domain, but they are connected to us through...
I realized that since I upgraded the BIOS a second time that I had only used the slipstreamed copy of XP that we have. I decided to use the OEM disc we purchased and now it's working great. Thanks for your help!!!
I tried the f5 thing and all I get is Standard PC or Other. Other just asks for a floppy from the manufacturer and Standard PC doesn't get me anywhere. I checked the BIOS before the BIOS upgrade so I'll check that again. Also, I used Ubuntu 8.04 as a Live CD and it sees both processors...
I'm lost here. I've been researching non stop on this since last Friday and I'm coming up empty handed. I've spoke with ASUS support and still nothing.
I've got the following hardware (2 identical machines doing the exact same thing)
Motherboard: ASUS P5VD2-VM SE
Processor: Intel Dual Core...
We have a user that has a home office. Over the last week or so he's been having a reoccuring problem. He connects to our domain via a Cisco VPN client. He has access to the shared drives, the mail server, and all other normal network tools. However, he's been having a problem where his Oulook...
Just in case anyone else encounters this, the problem ended up being with his Microsoft Intellipoint Mouse with the latest 6.2 drivers. Everything worked fine until he installed that. Uninstalled it and it works fine again. Weird but true!
I found something that should work for perfectly for my company, Ultra VNC repeater. However, I'm having trouble using it. I have the repeater setup but I don't know how to access it. I'm setting up a Single Click III setup as shown here...

Thanks! Any other ideas how to do what we're trying to do? Our two objectives are to continue using VNC (we have about 2000 clients and we don't want to change them all) and we only want to have a single port open.
Tried that in my original post, didn't make a differenct unfortunately. We actually ended up giving him another laptop. This one is a centrino duo so hopefully it will work better.
Thanks for all of the help!
