Audio from both ports?

To make this simple, is it possible to simultaneously play the same audio from the back audio ports on the fron audio ports as well?

Most of the machines are Dell Optiplex GX620s. I have no idea what board they use other than likely it being a Foxconn.

Typically the front panel connector is for headphones and disables the rear panel speakers. This is done with a switch that is part of the 1/8" jack. Simple solution is to use a splitter connected to the rear jack if you want more than one speaker output.

We do that currently and it sucks. Half the time the splitter just kills audio all together, even if you just use one port.

Then you're not using the correct splitter. Stereo TRS (2 conductor & sleeve) should work just fine, I use one to split the audio from my laptop to two sets of headphones for 2-person video viewing. If you're using a mono splitter you will have problems.

Here's one:

I prefer a solid unit like this to the pigtail version, which has three molded ends to go bad.

I found a USB powered small headphone 3 channel amplifier so I'll try that. Might just solve a lot of problems.

Just keep in mind that USB devices take the sound card out of the picture. If you've spent a lot on the sound card you will not see its benefits.
