I am having a problem backing up one of our Linux servers. The Linux OS is Debian, I have created a crontab as suggested to check for a restart of services. All firewall ports are configured on the commvault side and all firewall ports are configured on the Linux side. The setup is the exact...
All,
Has anyone installed SQL2005 SP3 on their Comcell?
Have there been any problems?
Our security group would like us to install SP3 for SQL2005 but I wanted to check first to see if there are any known issues. Any help would be appreciated.
I do not have any specific ideas on why you recieved that error message but I can say that I had multiple issues upgrading from v7 to v8, all stopping exaclty where you had issues with the error message db upgrade failed. I did this 3 times and rolled back the DB and software all 3 times with no...
Before I did what they asked I would run a full backup on a server (any server you want preferably a smaller one). If the full backup works without any errors then run a differential and see if that works. If that works then you may just need to run a full for all servers and it should resolve...
Just thought I would post this here, it is link to an exchange article with a solution to a problem I was having. User at another site (one we do not manage but assist) had a user who was fired, account deleted, mailbox deleted, new user hired with same name so the AD account is the same as the...
That filter should work but you have to apply it to all subclients either thru global filters and then at the client or thru the client manually, in version 8 you have a comcell level policy and this makes it easier, also for anyone else reading v8 allows you to retain all jobs at one time...
Easy way, mark down the label number that you put on the cleaning tape, I just use a regular label (I tried the cleaning labels with the CLN and commvault did not like them, I just made a note of what labels I use for cleaning 1-50 at all sites), import the tape, locate the tape in Commvault...
I have never seen this before but this is what I would try.
Using the library interface (or using the GUI on the library if you have one) see if you can export the tapes from there, this may force commvault to cancel this recall media request.
Stop and start the services on the Comcell to see...
had this problem with Symantec as well, got a reply from a user on this forum which is below, now this is for Symantec but I am sure there is something similar for sophos
We had the same issue with SEP where it modifies the change journal that commvault uses to check whtat files to backup. THe...
Just thouhgt I would post this in case any one every needed it.
Background
Exchange administrator is using Perfect Disk to defrag the DB's on a Sunday evening during our maintenance window, Perfect Disk deletes the DB that he was defragging, I am not kidding here it just disappeared, he then...
I would try Craig's suggestions first but I have found that numerous times a simple uninstall and reinstall of the client on the problem machines will resolve this issue.
I believe it is under hkey_local_machine/software
Delete the commvault systems entry. you should then be able to reinstall the agent. Persoanlly I would deconfigure the client from the Comcell first and then hack it out of the registry before re-installing.
locate the client that you want to edit the schedule for, right click on it and choose all tasks and then schedules. You will then see a scheduled jobs box appear. Select the schedule that you want to edit and choose EDIT, that should be it.
Dutchtreat,
I am aware that I can change the scan to classic and set the archive bit but that requires that the next job to be a full, I have over 250 servers that I would have to make this change to. It does not really matter, we just moved the av scans to Friday since I run my fulls then...
Ok,
Here is the problem, wondering if anyone has seen this or knows a way around it.
We have SEP as our antivirus on our servers, the scheduled scan is set for Tuesday night, full system scan.
Once the scan runs our differentials now turn into basically fulls. We are currently renewing...
It all depends on the size of your exchange servers. Our largest exchange server is about 750 gigs but the stores are maybe 80 at max. Since you can use Recovery Storage Groups in Exchange 2003 I do not do mailbox level backups since they take forever, and if the mailboxes are large I do mean...
Commvault never answered my question in regards to a temp mode so I would check with them on that one. I do know that once you have recieved the license with the new IP you can apply it anytime after the server has been moved, if you leave the server on the old IP for 2 months after you recieve...
I am not sure about the maintenance contract issue, I would ask your Commvault rep about that. As far as the IP change, really easy, they send you a new license with the new IP, you change the IP, apply the license and you are done.
yes you can still follow step 1 on the MB, the point here is to make sure that from Commvault you can see either the DB or the MB, thus eliminating account and permissions settings as long as you can see the DB's or the MB's, also what error message is the mailbox job having?
