I'd check your permissions and maybe even test with a domain admin account to see if it's getting hung on requesting a file or something silly. Is your backup a dedicated server, or does it hold other roles? Are you backing up to a san, usb device, local server, or tape?

Firewall ports opened? bp.conf or system registry file correct? Master and media servers are listed?

Should clarify, and I couldn't find the thread edit button. This would be workstation side, not server side. I'm wanting to login to different servers via 1 computer to eliminate the need for remote login boxes to monitor job status, and so on. Just to make things more efficent.
