I'm wondering the possiblities of installing 5.1, and 6.0 on the same machine. Or even 6.0, and 6.5 ?

Is it possible?

Should clarify, and I couldn't find the thread edit button. This would be workstation side, not server side. I'm wanting to login to different servers via 1 computer to eliminate the need for remote login boxes to monitor job status, and so on. Just to make things more efficent.

I do not think it would be possible
For a windows box it enters specific version info into the registry.

Stumpr can probably confirm

Thanks,

Frank

registry hack anyone :)

I may begin to look at the reg info on a 6.0 machine, and a 5.1 see what differs. If I find any thing of value i'll post it.

This would not be possible because the application uses the same files to the same paths, dlls/library files, etc, and as mentioned, the same registry paths/entries.

Now that I think about it, if you are saying what I think you are saying, you want to administer two different backup environments? If that's the case, then yes, you can install two different Windows Java GUI versions on the same box.

Works on UNIX ok, though I had to script it to swap symbolic links from /usr/openv to point to the correct version i wanted (after stopping NBU), then restarting. I have 3 version on my workstation.

jhulbe, for what you want, wouldn't VBR do the trick, sure you'd have to pay for it....

Anyway I can Bootstrap install a version on a 4GB thumbdrive? Anything special i'd need to do?

I've never done any VBR options
