Hey guys...

My firewall is blocking the service Netbackup_vnetd. It's traffic coming from the server to the machine with the GUI installed.

The service is showing blocked on ports: 35160,35411,35415

My question is, does this service use these 3 ports statically? As in it always uses 35160,35411,35415. Or does it use a range? i.e. 35100 - 35450

I'd hate to open up a range of ports when only these 3 are needed.

Anyone care to chime in, or know what i'm talking about :) :) :)

thanks in advance.

nevermind, software degration caused it throw a random port out there. I need to tell teh software to use specfic ports, and then open those..

I got it.. :)

Yea, NBU connects from the master over default ports and then uses random ones on the connect back. One can specify what ports to use and open them out through your firewall. Good luck with your network idiots.
