one thing to also check is that you set the speed and duplex on the router connected to the cable modem...
I ran into this with auto-neg...

There are a few things that only reset with a power cycle on 3548's....
Kinda strange, but the only answer I was ever given by TAC. That and it may be fixed in the next release.
