Hello:
I Have 2 Cisco 2924 switches that I want to restore back to factory presets so that I can set them up just like when you unbox one and start it up and have to put in all the setup information. They currently have old setup information on them and I want to completely remove it.

Thanks

write erase command
then reboot
or enter setup mode by typing SETUP

Hope this helps....

You can also shut down the switch then hold the "Mode" button in for about 5 seconds after powering it back up. That will bring you to original config the manaul way.

I have one more questions. I am new to this and hope someone can help.

Our company has bought new office space and from previous owner we have purchased their CISCO 2924-XL-A Switch and ISDN Router. They have left the Switch, Router, all cabling and Counsel Computer as is. All they did is that they disconnected their server.

We will be replacing ISDN Router with DSL Linksys Router.

Would it be wise to reset the switch and start from the scratch or use their current setup?

If it were I, Clean the devices and start from scratch. You don't want someone elses mistakes to bite you later on.

before you waste the configs.. make a copy of them.. at least you will have a starting point for configs that did work at one time. It might save you from re-inventing the wheel on a few things.

I do not have their password information. Can I copy current configs without having password? If so, how? If not then please advise on my next step.

Thanks in advace.
