Hi,
Well if you mean that when you power up your computer the HDD doesn't power up (spin), one thing you can try is to gently tap the side of the HDD when pówer is on. Sometimes HDD's "dry out" if they sit too long, but don't try to open the drive, as this will pretty much render it...
Hi Steve,
Let's start with your 2nd question first...you can do one of two things, you could physically disconnect the lead from the back of the cd-rom to the sound card, but by doing that, you would have to reconnect it if at some point you wanted to listen to music cd's through your speakers...
Hi,
I suppose one would have to ask why you would want to disable the cancel button? Wouldn't it make more sense to eliminate the Windows password screen entirely? (or are there more than 1 user using the computer?)

Hi,
Probably the easiest way is to open Internet Explorer, then open tools -> internet options tab -> programs. Near the bottom of that screen is a check box for "Internet Explorer should check to see if it the default"...put a check in the box, close and restart I.E. and it should...

Hi Roger,
Just thought I'd put in my "two cents"... I would suggest that you back up the HDD (files you want to keep etc.) Then re-format and do a "clean install" of the OS and programs. The main problem with changing the drive to another system is that "detects"...
