Thanks for your thoughts. I have tried to uninstall SP3 but the instructions from Microsoft says to remove it from add/remove programs and it is not listed as a program or an update Ray

SP3 does exist but as a release candidate. I am using SP3 RC (rc2 is now available) and other than a small problem installing Fax services (see my thread) I have had no prblems at all. It is downloadable from the Microsof site
