Yeah i may have jumped the gun when i said i have a boot sector virus, but hey, it got both of your guys attention, so it couldn't have been all that bad! I am ruling out a failed drive, I was able to successfully slave the drive in an XP machine, and I ran AVG on the drive, which found...
Hey all,
I’m trying to help a user out with their home PC running win2k with the latest and greatest MS updates, SP 4 ‘an all.
Long story short when you boot the computer you receive the following:
*** STOP: 0x0000007B (0x820B8030, 0xc0000006, 0x0000000000, 0x00000000) INACCESIBLE_BOOT_DEVICE...
I hear your suggestion and I agree with you. However in the situation I am in, I don’t make those decisions, I’m just the guy that gets blamed if it doesn’t work. I have checked with the vendor and talked to software engineers, they say that as of now the product is only compatible with SP1...
My company is going to be purchasing a document imaging product that requires service pack 1 for Server 2003. Question being if we buy Server 2003 with SP2 can we rollback to SP1 without any major issues?

Thanks for you responses,
Much appreciated!

Pat,
The paging file is on a separate partition as the exchange data, as for disks, we have (3) 72.8 Gb drives in a RAID-5 array. We don’t really have the means to put the database files on a separate dedicated array, as much as I wish we could, we can’t. As of this morning event id 1221...
All,
After doing a windows disk defrag analysis on an exchange partition I found:
Volume size: 45 Gb
Percent free space: 54%
Total frag: 49%
File frag: 98%
Pagefile has no frags
MFT has 2 frags
The two most fragmented files are the MDBDATA\ 15.6 Gb .edb and 4.5 Gb .stm with 2,000 frags and 645...
Hey all,
I have a question about Exchange and Defragmentation. There are a lot of resources out there available that talk about exchange and defragmentation. I am curious as to what the effects of running the disk defragmenter via computer management mmc on an Exchange partition. The drive’s...
