Hey everyone
We've just recently started working with hp xw4400 workstations, and I have noticed that the CPU (Intel C2D E6420 2.13Ghz) isn't running at the right speed. I have a Quad at home and I had to turn off the C1E setting in the BIOS to stop it from throttling the CPU when idle, but I...
Thanks for the fast replies. It is nice to know that I am not the only one struggling to understand what he is on about, but unfortunately I am not certified so I don't have anything to back up my suspicions. For the moment I have just installed the basic version of Sophos (not the business...
Hello everyone. It's been a while since I've posted on these forums, I've been out of the game for a while but I'm back in again. I hope that some of the more experienced users out there can answer a few questions on the above subject. I'll give you a little background information so you have a...
Terminal Services will automatically set up print mapping for your local printer. All you need to do is find it and send the print to it. The name will be something like \\PRINTER_NAME\COMPUTER_NAME\Session Number on your local PC. The COMPUTER_NAME is your PC's name, not the server's name.
Ahh I've had this before. What operating system do you have on the server and workstation?? Is the server on the latest service pack?? I have this problem with Windows 2000 SBS 2k and Windows 2000 workstations. The ISA Tray program doesn't work correctly for me on 2k, but all internet...
I've checked MS TechNet and there's nothing else about it other than the IP routing etc. Anyone got any ideas about what I can do to rectify this issue??
Well I've disabled the cache on our server here so it definately won't be that. We've also set the client PC's to force an update of the webpage each visit it makes, so that would bypass the cache anyway (well one would hope it would). We use IE5 and IE6 on the PC's.
I don't think it's an ISP...
Make sure that the name given to the ISA server itself is listed in the box when you double-click on the ISA Tray icon. Also make sure that Automatically Detect ISA Server is un-checked if you are going to manually specify the name in the box. If it is ticked it should find the server anyway...
Hi everyone. I am not 100% how to configure the proxy in SBS 2k to allow https sites to work correctly. At the moment we access a few of these sites for things such as banking etc (these sites are not hosted on our server, we have no sites hosted on our server) but they are exceptionally slow...
Hi everyone. This might be something really simple to sort out, but I would like to know if there is any way that I can schedule a reboot of our server via Task Scheduler in Windows 2000 Server?? I've had a look in the options but I can't seem to find anything anywhere.
Does anyone know if it's...
Currently the server is still on it's original SP so perhaps it will be worth my while to run the latest SP on it. I was just weary of doing this because there are quite a few SP downloads to choose from and I wasn't sure of the best way to go about it.
I'll take another look today. The...
Hi everyone. On some occasions I have been into the Services MMC snap-in and some of the services have appeared to have frozen. What I mean when I say this is that I can't stop, restart or start them. This has just happened to me this morning after I rebooted the server. How do I go about...
Hi everyone. Can anyone tell whether it is possible to automatically insert a date into Word documents that are used often, similar to Excels formula??
Thanks.
Hi all.
For some reason, on our Exchange 2k server, when a bad message gets sent (ie bad recipient, server timeout on recipients end etc) the message seems to sit in the queue holding up every other message that's being sent. This can go on for a few days until the non-deliverable rule kicks in...
Hi all. Can anyone tell me how to create an address book that all users on Exchange can access. I need to add email addresses for our users on our external sites, but can't seem to find where to do this from. Must it be done using Exchange 5.5 or Outlook 2k?? It needs to be global though so all...
