I've install the firewall client from ISA but now my firewall client is showing a little world Icon with a plug in the task bar, and when you move the mouse over it, it says "isa server could not be detected."

Anyone have any Ideas?

Make sure that the name given to the ISA server itself is listed in the box when you double-click on the ISA Tray icon. Also make sure that Automatically Detect ISA Server is un-checked if you are going to manually specify the name in the box. If it is ticked it should find the server anyway.

The name should just be something like SERVER01, not
Give that a try.

This was the first thing I tried. But yet it's still unavailible even though there is no errors in the event log and you can still access the net??

I'm Stumped!!!

Ahh I've had this before. What operating system do you have on the server and workstation?? Is the server on the latest service pack?? I have this problem with Windows 2000 SBS 2k and Windows 2000 workstations. The ISA Tray program doesn't work correctly for me on 2k, but all internet functionality is there due to the proxy server being set up in IE's connection settings. As long as that is there, you shouldn't really experience any troubles with browsing etc.

I'm running W2K servers with SP2, and the Workstations are W2K with SP2. I originally installed the firewall client for the first time on friday of last week and real player worked fine. On monday this week it was displaying that message and real player no longer works over the internet.

I had made no changes to the ISA server. Just one of these things I guess
