Anyone know of what Netware processes need restarted after a client upgrade to get NBU communicating again. I had my Netware admin run the client upgrade and communication is not restored with the server until after a Netware server reboot.
Due to the service outage we can not reboot all of...
The upgrade documentation advises to open a call after you run nbcc to have Symantec to review the output to check for database inconsistencies. After you run nbcc which runs pretty quick it will tell you if there are database inconsistencies or not.
If you need to upgrade any Windows...
I just completed my upgrade from 5.0mp7 to 6.5.1 and things went relatively smooth. Follow the upgrading to 6.5 documentation in the upgrade portal and you'll be fine.

Make sure to open a case after you run the nbcc to verify the catalog...
Just got off the phone with support and this is actually a bug in the upgrade from 5.0 to 6.5.1.
The exact scenario I am seeing is the DSSU is filling up (when a backup is running) and purging the newest backups since the upgrade, but not the backups in the disk stage that occurred before the...
Since my upgrade from 5.0 mp7 to 6.5 my DSSU's will not purge out old copies that have already been duplicated to tape. It seems as though the backups since the upgrade are duplicating and purging out fine.
I know I can just expire the images on disk and delete them, but I have multiple...
Can someone direct me to the document that details the amount of space required on a disk stage. I was told that there is a calculation of the amount of space and number of servers you are backing up to determine how much space a disk stage requires. This disk stage of course would run the...
Hi, I am running NBU 5.0 MP7. I changed my catalog configuration to start backing the catalog up in a different location on the server. Now that it is backing up in a different place, can I just delete the old backup or is there a procedure to purge the catalog backup out?
Thanks!
To correct this issue, change the media multiplexing on the schedule to 1. Or ensure that the maintenance pack of the client is the same as the server. I realize it now that this issue probably coincides with the upgrade to mp7 on version 5.0.
A similar issue is discussed in the following...
Just to add to this thread and see if anyone has any input.
On this server NBU will BU all of the backup selections except the first volume listed. I added the E:\ drive to the BU selections list. Now I have E:\, G:\, H:\ and G:\ and H:\ are backing up but it is skipping E:\. Previously it...
I have a Windows2003 client that is backing up two different drives. G:\ and H:\. They both backup successfully, but data is only grabbed from one or the other. For ex. they both are successful, but one only backs up 1kb and the other grabs all the data. There is data changing on these...
