well, one would think so if you think about it. we only use a couple different filters including 2wire and they all beep with my harris buttset which is detecting the modem or router.
i simply shut off the modem/router and the problem is solved, no more beeping. other than customer...
what we use is a NID splitter. call your provider and they can sell you one if you cant find one. then run the home run to your DSL location thus filtering off the entire house in one shot.

the issue you two are having is not with the filter but your buttset. i'm betting you are using a "datasafe" buttset. these buttsets are widely used because they won't disturb the DSL, thus not producing dial tone, just the heartbeat of the DSL modem.
