DSL filter on phone dialer

I have a Honeywell home security system - if alarm goes off, automatic phone dialer kicks in and dials up monitoring company which dispatches police etc.
Installing a DSL filter ahead of this may not be easy - could I give the phone dialer a try, or would the high frequency damage the dialer?

The high frequency won't harm your autodialer but the data transmitted after connection may be in a high enough frequency range that the DSL filter will filter the alarm data transmission. You can try it and see if the monitoring company can receive data through the filter. If not, then use individual filters through the house behind the security system.

The DSL should not damage the dialer, but the dialer will kill or inter fear with the DSL, That make filters just for alarms system, I have never had a system that need any thing but a stander one. Put one dsl filter in the NID and run a home run for the DSL modem from the NID, This also gives you a stronger signel because each filter adds app. 1/2 db lost. All Phone devices need to be filtered people forget about Alarm System and Sat TV then I get call the dam dsl is no good it keep dropping. I will on plug the inside at the NID and read with my ADSL meter, then reconnect the NID and then check it at the ADSL modem. Sometimes the home wireing will also cause a lot of loss witch the home run will fix.

what we use is a NID splitter. call your provider and they can sell you one if you cant find one. then run the home run to your DSL location thus filtering off the entire house in one shot.

DO NOT PUT A REGULAR FILTER IN THE NID! one regular filter in you nid may work for a short time if at all, but it will fail. the NID splitters are designed to filter off numerous dialing equipment at one while the regular filters are not!
