I just purchased a mac mini last night!! That is too funny. My iMac died in November and I have been using this old Powermac g4 since then. I heard nothing but good things about mac minis and I also bought it as a refurb. I am very excited about my new computer and I can't wait for it until it...
well I just wanted you guys to know that my iMac died. They said it was the logic board that was going and it finally went late last year. To repair it they said its like 900 something dollars. Ridiculous. I was looking online to see if anyone was selling them but they are expensive$600 some...
Cool, thank you so much!! I appreciate you both!! It sucks how I just can't delete the partitions though. I mean they both have free space on them but it isn't letting me expand it or delete them so I guess I am going to have to go the more expensive way. Thank you guys again!
Yes I tried the tiger disk that came with my iMac G5 but it says it cannot be installed on that computer. I also asked my friend but they do not have the disk. How can I get one of those disks? Is there a website where I can go on to buy the install disk and how do I know which is the right one...
I did that and it does not allow me to delete the partitions.I clicked partitions and under Volume Schemes it has 3 boxes with the partitions in them. There is no opetion to delete them.
My friend gave me his computer and I see that he has Tiger, Panther and Jaguar on the desktop. How do I delete Panther and Jaguar from the computer. I already went to disk utility and erased those two partitions but everytime I start my mac up, they end up being on the desktop. How do I remove...
Is the CPU speed like the processor speed or BUS speed? It says:
Processor Speed: 2.1 GHz
Number Of CPUs: 1
L2 Cache (per CPU): 512 KB
Memory: 1.5 GB
Bus Speed: 700 MHz
I have 512MB already built in and 1GB DDR2 SDRAM. How much more RAM would I need? I have an iMac G5 PowerPC 2.1 GHz.
Would I need another 512MB to max it out?
Hmmm, good to know. I think I will purchase some RAM. I do remember the guy from the apple store saying that getting more RAM may help it. I will check out that website. Thank you for your help.
Well I tried everything and it still continued to happen. I then brought it to the apple store and they told me that the logic board was going. The cost to repair it, well I might as well buy a new computer. I can't do that right now so I will just keep this until it really goes. In activity...
Whenever I watch streaming videos on my Imac G5 powerpc, it goes to sleep. I then click my mouse and it wakes up but will keep going to sleep as long as the video is on. It doesn't go to sleep when I do anything else but watch videos. Why is this happening? Please help!!
I have my modem and wireless router upstairs hooked up to my other computer and I want My iMac G3 to receive internet from the downstairs. So all I would need is the Apple card to be installed in the G3, correct.
I have an iMac G3 and I wanted wireless internet on it. What do I need to install to make this happen? What kind of Airport card and do I need a base station?
When I click my cursor on the airport icon on top of the apple menu, it shows that there are two other routers on that list with locks to the right of them. Are they people who are using my wireless router for the internet? How do I kick them off it?
I am still having problems retrieving email. I deleted my account on Mac Mail and set it up again and it cannot connect to the server. I tried setting up an account with Entourage and I am able to send messages but not receive them. Can someone help me? Is there something I need to turn on in...
