Thanks everyone, that is what I thought. Much appreciated.
I will recommend the embedded VM, especially now that is provides email voicemails without the need for VM Pro. Very cool.
Chris.
I'm looking for some help with a new setup.
They have 3 POTS lines and want the system to use line 3 for outbound calls. But, if that line is busy to then use line 2. If that is busy, to use line 1.
I'm assuming ARS (the new LCS method) is the way to go, but I'm not sure how it should work...
Hmmm... No joy in getting the Avaya TAPI provider to even show up when I try to add a new provider via Control Panel / Phone and Modem Options / Advanced in Vista 64-bit.
It appears to install the driver just fine, I just don't get the option.
Bummer, as this would be a cool thing to have.
Chris.
I'm helping setup an IPO 500, running the latest (4.2(11)) firmware, with a handful of analog POTS lines.
They want to use the Telco voicemail. So, I've tried to use a Line Appearance so they can tell if there is a voicemail (via the stutter tone), but that didn't seem to work. I get a dial...
Fixup is the old Pix 6.X method. The new ASA version 7+ uses Inspect.
If the VPN is PPTP based (I'm not sure what ports/protocols the Avaya VPN uses), just make sure you have the Inspect PPTP line enabled:
policy-map global_policy
class inspection_default
inspect pptp
I've remove the...
We do something similar as Rikybogo. Our extensions are in the 2xx range, and I set option 1 to dial by extension.
We tell people to use x1201 for outside callers (which will dial x201 internally).
Seems to work just fine on a 406v2 and 4.1.
Chris.
As I just posted in another thread, I have Office Manager 6.0.5.0 running on Vista Ultimate.
For me, I had a hard time "finding" the unit. I tracked it down to one of two things:
1) I have IPv6 turned on. I turned off IPv6 in my NIC control panel and restarted.
2) The "Discovery" range was...
I just installed it, and it seems to be working for me (also on Vista Ultimate).
I did have a hard time finding my IPO unit, but once I set the range in the network settings (preferences), it's been working. Well, sometimes I do have to select an option more then once, but for the little...
OK, both "Dial Direct" and "Dial Intercom" seem to do what I want. Thanks for the pointer in the right direction.
Here's how I have it setup:
When a call comes in, the receptionist can answer it, press forward, then press a button I've programed to "Direct Dial" a specific extension and gets...
Hi All,
Is it possible to dial an extension, and have the other side automatically pick up via speakerphone?
That is, instead of ringing at the desk, I want to start talking to the person.
Thanks,
Chris.
Is it possble to prioritize which lines get used?
We are a small office, and I want to use my fax line as an outbound line, but only if the other lines are in use.
We have a IPO 406v2, running the latest version 3.1(56)
Is this possible?
Thanks,
Chris.
OK, I think I finally got it. It's a little bit kludgy, but here is what I did:
1) Created a short code for the auto attendant (*90).
2) Created a user ((User:AA:Main") that 'Forward Unconditional' and 'Forward Huntgroup Calls'. I need to set the Foreward number to ("AA:Main Shortcode") -...
Thanks guys, that's what I thought. But, we are a small office, and VM Pro is just over kill.
I will try the unconditional forward. If it works, I will be happy.
And yes, you do need to dial the proceeding digit in order to allow the ability to dial the extension. The problem is, it doesn't...
Hi All,
I successfully setup an IPO 406v2 with the embedded voice mail. I upgraded to 3.1(56), and so far so good.
Aside: It took some time to figure out, while in the auto-attendant, if I assign a button "Normal Transfer", but leave the extension empty, it will allow the caller to dial a...
