Telecom VoiceMail?

I'm helping setup an IPO 500, running the latest (4.2(11)) firmware, with a handful of analog POTS lines.

They want to use the Telco voicemail. So, I've tried to use a Line Appearance so they can tell if there is a voicemail (via the stutter tone), but that didn't seem to work. I get a dial tone, when I should get the stutter tone.

Am I doing something wrong?

Any tips on how to alert when there are voicemail messages?

Much appreciated,

Chris.

I would stick an embedded card in instead, much more flexible and usefull than telco VM. I dont think you will get the stutter dialtone to work.

Unless your IP500 is running in Pro then VM lite is free, but not as flexible.

I have been thru this and there is no way to get the telco to let the IPO know there is VM. with 4.0(i Think) you would get the line dialtone but that has changed. You could try playing with the secondary dialtone setting on the line and see if it helps.

Thanks everyone, that is what I thought. Much appreciated.

I will recommend the embedded VM, especially now that is provides email voicemails without the need for VM Pro. Very cool.
