Yes, by now, both KSU and VM confirmed to have been reboot.
The reason and benefit of REINSTALL is clear.
If it was a square system with only 3 users and an easy company greeting and GD box, I would have done REINSTALL before posting on Tek-Tips
However I do think it will take a bit more...
For troubleshooting, does anyone think it is worth trying a different Startalk hard drive in the existing StarTalk case? If the ring issue is corrected by the change, we would know for sure this is not a hardware problem on the main vm unit -- if the ring issue persists, it would point to a...
Well... it was not the DRT ring setting. It was changed from 3 to 6, but today's test verified AA still picks up after 3 rings.
I found two phones w/ ADN for reception that had CFNA to VM DN set for 3 rings -- one has no vm on the extension, the other had a vm box setup but not initialized --...
One new piece of information: They have changed from a full-time receptionist to no-receptionist. It is very possible AA has never really picked up on 6 rings like they remember.
I changed DRT from 3 rings to 6 rings -- awaiting report from users.
I am concerned this may solve the current...
Hello everyone and thank you.
I cannot report an answer yet, but I think you are all correct:
Curly: On result of reboot: can't do until morning at end of third shift. On age: Yes it is old but has new power supply and new hard drive both less than five years old. It is also a struggling...
Norstar StarTalk auto attendant rings 3 times regardless of ring setting
Hello Techs,
Referring to a StarTalk 2.04L
I had about 6 lines answered by AA at 6 rings for a long time without any problem. After a while, the users requested change from 3 rings to 6 rings. But I found it was already...
Thanks Brian.
I should have thought of that, or at least tested it.
I did try outbound calls, but not inbound. I bet the time comes with the caller ID data, right?
I only tested by making outbound calls on the lines. But I can now see why inbound calls might bring the time data, but...
Thanks Bob!
I am Curious what version first had that option?
But do you have any idea why the system chooses the time from one co line instead of the others?
I mean I have 3 lines from Vonage that had the correct time set but one that did not. Why is the system following that one instead of...
Norstar 0x32 Automatic Time Source?
Does the 0x32 have a way to get time automatically from a CO line?
I recently added a Vonage line to an 0x32 that already had a few std copper lines from local telco
The line works fine
But since the timezone was wrong from Vonage, it forced the clock on...
Cutting the notch and forcing the card to fit actually worked for you? -- I would have assumed the lack of notch was to make sure it was not accidentally inserted to a cabinet that could not support the card -- any idea what the notch was supposed to prevent?
I think I already found this to be true in the past but would someone confirm:
DID cards will not work or fit in an 0x32 cabinet, they must be used in a trunk module -- Is that correct?
What is the minimum version of DR software that will support DID in an 8x24 with copper trunk module?
Thank...
I can add a little to Ironhorse's comment:
The NT5B41's appear to have "made in Canada" and the NT7B75's appear to have "made in Mexico"
It makes sense that the Canada-made units would be the older originals (Nortel was Canada based) but the newer units apparently are now made in Mexico.
BUT...
Also--
Is there any noteworthy difference between any of these numbers?
NT5B41GA Caller Identification Trunk Cartridge
NT5B41GA-93 Caller Identification Trunk Cartridge
NT5B41GB-93 Call ID Trunk Cartridge
NT7B75AAAC Global Analog Trunk Cartridge - CLID
NT7B75AAAE Global Analog Trunk...
Sorry to ask a probably obvious question, but is there any creative use for Norstar DID trunk cards, BESIDES serving DID lines?
With the advent of inexpensive T1 for voice, does anyone even order DID trunks for new installs anymore?
Thanks again to all who get involved.
Can someone confirm the difference between these two Norstar Trunk Cards
NT5B41GB-93 Caller Identification Trunk Cartridge
NT7B75AAAC Global Analog Trunk Cartridge - CLID
Thank you for any info
Thank you Brian -- It is great to get helpful info --
I may have a DR5 cartridge to facilitate future experimentation. I'll look for it -- I did not want to play with the working 0x32 with the old StarTalk
BUT more importantly, would I be better off buying a used or refurb'd NAM to get to the...
How about this: I just tried a hard drive from a different model 4 and it still does not seem to work -- perhaps I have a bad motherboard or bad interface card? -- does anyone have any suggestions about further troubleshooting?
Thank you again
Oops -- Scratch that last question: I just remembered that **model 4** means 4 port, not sw 4.
This system has a note on case that says 2.2 so I believe this is SW 2.2
-- which leads to my next question -- If I have a model4 and I purchase a 4.1 hard drive, are there any compatibility...
assuming it is the hard drive: Is there a means to verify my hardware cabinet/motherboard so I can get a compatible hard drive? If I have a model4, does that mean it came orig with 4.0 software and that I can only replace with 4.0 or 4.1?
