That is correct. When using auto-negotiation the switches are smart enough to detect and use Auto MDI/MDX. When you hard set port duplex and port speed Auto MDI/MDX is disabled and therefore need to use a Xover cable for transmit and receive pairs.

Just out of curiousity, do you have both the Voice Network and Data Network running on the same subnet?
If so this would be one BIG reason why your seeing these issue's.
Make sure you loop start analog lines are set correctly for Incoming Caller ID in the line configuration tree.
If there is no Caller ID on those lines and you have it set to look for Caller ID on them, it will and has caused similar issues in the past for me.
