i have two site linked together and voip works great with scn enabled what i want to know is. is there anyway of creating a fallback so if the link goes down for any reason that the call would then dial the assigned ddi of a extension at the other site.

cheers

3.1 is supposed to accomodate this feature - i just read about it yesterday - its covered in the latest docs.

Hello,

The IPOffice will try about 5 seconds to reach it's destination over SCN. When the link is down it will use LCR to determine another route to the called number.
So only use this with numbers you can reach via DDI numbers and route the none DDI-Numbers to the operator group.
The calls over fallback are normal calls and not voip as in SCN.
The whole fallback was a new feature for 3.1
We impemented it by a customer with just to sites and it works great. When there ADSLlink was down for 4 days they still could reach each other.

Escorthosis.

Escorthosis,

I was wondering how you have your sites setup. I currently have a two site SCN setup (soon 5) over a Point-to-Point, with backup copper lines. If the Point-to-Point goes down I want the users to then go over the copper trunks. However I would like them to still dial 9 and be unaware of the call route. Any ideas would be great!

Thanks in advance.

thanks guy's

please could you point me to the documentation so i can read up about it. i have been looking for about an hour now and can't find it anywhere.

cheers

In the 3.1 toolkit, its under:

Applications-->Manager Application-->PBX Features-->IP Trunk Fallback

Dianacone,

If I understand correctly your point to point is a voip trunk between the two SCN sites?

I built the following:

Site1 6xxx Users/Groups with 50=Voipline to site 2 voicenetworking is on and 0=ISDNline group.
Shortcode (for groups) 7xxx . dial over 50
LCRMain 7xxx . dial over 50
LCRAlternateRoute1 7xxx DDINRsite2N over 0

Site2 7xxx Users/Groups with 52=Voipline to site 1 voicenetworking is on and 10=ISDNlinegroup.
Shortcode (for groups) 6xxx . dial over 52
LCRMain 6xxx . dial over 52
LCRAlternateRoute1 6xxx DDINRsite1N over 10

If you don't have xxx DDI numbers on the sites just route the ones that have to their respective DDI numbers and route the rest of the range to the mainDDI number

Hope this is clear, otherwise use the toolkit as stated by Eltorodeoro

Does anyone know if this will fallback to alog lines.
