well if you "list public unknown" you should be able to see what your extensions are programmed to send out on external calls...
like this example extension 1234 is programmed to send 212-555-1000 on external calls..

what happens when you dial the destination number from the phone that you are attempting to forward from? does it go out, and if so does it go out over the same route pattern and trunk?
