Your Octel and the PBX have gotten out-of-sync. Your Octel support should be able to run a utility to turn all of the MWI off. Under menu 13 (System Maintenance) there is an entry, 5, to turn the MWI back on for mailboxes that have unheard messages.
we have a vmx 300 xl (octel) serenade line integrated with a neax 2400 over a rs-232 link with mci. we are experiencing the same thing since last wednesday-lights stay or or off regardless of new message status. we are at the end of our rope. i have rebooted the voicemail, techs rebooted the switch, they can turn lights on & off manually. i have done a mwl relite and mwl recalc all to no avail. anyone have any suggestions? help!
Good to know we are not the only ones....you are having the same issue we are.....to a T.....we have multiple site, and only one that we know of is having this issue!!!I will let you know what we find out...we are working with Avaya.....

It appears the NEC security key (dongle) and/or the Null Modem is malfunctioning. A Null Modem has been replaced; and the NEC security key is being taken out temporary; Nu-Vision engineer in procession of the mul-function dongle is going to order the security key for us.
