Thanks Fred - I would love to upgrade to a later version of Word but I'm in the cash-strapped Local Government sector so that's a non-starter I'm afraid.
Genomon, I checked out the toolbars but there's no Adobe one to check. I think it may have been a macro previously.
Thanks for suggestions...
Two problems really.....I have recently installed Acrobat X Pro, but am still using Microsoft Word 2002. I used to have "convert to pdf" options on the Word toolbar but they have disappeared, presumably as a result of the new version of Acrobat being installed. I can produce a pdf by using the...

Hope this makes sense.....
A colleague has a first version of a document in MS Word, and a later version as a pdf. Is it possible to track changes in the two documents, either by converting the Word doc to pdf and comparing the two pdfs, or by converting the later pdf back to Word and then...
CC,
That illustrates my view exactly - one can only "make" a decision oneself, or "take" from a choice of decisions, so it is another common misuse of the language creeping in that will no doubt become common use.

Francis - so do I!
Greg - well I thought "take a decision" sounded like another Americanism that was sneaking into our everyday language but it seems I'm wrong, apologies! [blush]

I've noticed a marked increase of the use of "take a decision", rather than "make a decision", particularly with reference to the Scottish Justice Secretary Kenny MacAskill's decision on the release of Megrahi. It would appear from some googling that "take" is more commonly used in the UK than...

Marcus,
Thanks for that. I got that much to work, but I had thought that like in Word, for instance, commonly misspelt words like hte(the) adn(and) etc. would change automatically as you type..... are those the type of words you're suggesting I would have to set up manually first?

Thanks Eugene and Andrew - unfortunately I don't have the option of changing the email client - it's a corporate package. I will pass your suggestions to my IT buddies and see if they can get round this.

Eugene,
I have tried this but there's still no option to choose the email client I need, which is Teamware - there's only Microsoft Outlook, Outlook Express, and Windows Live Mail. Presumably there is a setting somewhere on my system that allows me to choose Teamware as the default client...
I've trawled the Acrobat fora here and in the Adobe site and can't find the answer to my problem....
I have created a form with fillable fields (InDesign file exported to pdf) and I want colleagues to be able to fill it in and email it back to me. The problem I'm having is that the Email...
I sometimes have problems creating pdfs from CorelX3 and find one solution is to go File > Print > Acrobat Distiller, save as a .ps file. Then open Distiller, open the .ps file and it will create the pdf. Obviously you need Acrobat Professional to do this.

Hear, hear John - I was a devotee of Pagemaker for years and was dismayed when I had to move to InDesign. I played around with InDesign Pagemaker upgrade for a while then last year moved to CS3. It's just a case of getting used to anything new - practice makes perfect! I'm sure there's still...
Well good for you Eugene - I agree with Nicole, you are extremely knowledgeable and very helpful. I read all the InDesign posts because I'm quite new to it, and always find something I didn't know about, or didn't know how to do, usually from you!
Keep up the good work I say.
Smokey

Is it possible to create a link in Acrobat to more than one file i.e. when the cursor hovers over the link, a list of 2 or more filenames can appear, each one clickable?
Thanks for any help or advice.
