Guys, thank you for your replies although i don't think that quite answered what i was asking. I am specifically asking about the "Virtual Directory" tab on the exchange folder in IIS6 (Like in my attachment). The FAQ and forum post you provided do not cover whether "Script source access, Read...
Hello,
I wanted to make sure that the virtual directory properties on IIS 6 for the "Exchange" folder are correct.
I have attached a file with all the default permissions. It seems like there are too many for the exchange folder (under "default website" in IIS 6).
Can someone confirm or tell...
After not getting an answer here and lots of google-ing, I have deduced that it is impossible without a 3rd party tool.
This one looks pretty promising. I am getting a demo. If anybody is interested in how well it works then post here and I'll let you know...
Maybe this will help?

All,
I was approached by our company legal department about searching the mailboxes on the mail server for any references to a certain name. Is there a way to do that in system manager? Or some other obvious way?
Thanks,

OK, I found this: http://www.msexchange.org/tutorials/PFMIGRATE.html
"pfmigrate".
Anybody have any tips for using this (if it is the right way to go)?
Both email servers will be in two separate domains with a trust setup.

All,
I have a project coming up that involves moving mailboxes and public folders from one exchange 2003 server to another.
Both servers are in different domains.
Domain "A" is being de-commissioned and all the users and email are being merged into Domain "B".
We plan on using the Active...
I had offered to pay money in my email :)
Thanks again.

Wow that might actually work? Hmmm......
About 70 people at the other site.
Thanks for all your help. I will award stars to you. I tried emailing you a request to but perhaps the email address on your mvp profile page is out of date.

And remember system state backups only work reliably on the same server (ie - SAME hardware). If the hardware changes it is almost guaranteed NOT to work.

Can you tell I am trying to do this without a 3rd party solution? :)
Well if that cant happen then it is either have all email come into one server or use a 3rd party product?

Hey guys thanks for your replies. Yes we are going to have ONE Windows domain that users log into. Not two. But, we are going to have two @mail domains.
Remember the point is to receive mail for two @mail domains on 2 separate boxes. The point is to SAVE bandwidth cause if it all came in here...
Let me try and not be so vague.
I want mail for the one company we are buying to be delivered to the server at site "A" and the mail for our server to continue to come to our location at site "B". Both Exchange servers will be in the same domain. We will have a Metro Ethernet link connecting...
My boss said he wanted to be able to have two exchange boxes talk to each other and "sync" but they would both be for different mail domains... Am I barking up the wrong tree? Can this be accomplished with clustering?
Thanks for your reply!
