    Windows Update Loop

I've encountered the same "loop" problem with Lenovo. The Microsoft updates that appear to be at the root cause are: KB2647753 KB2729094 KB2732487 KB2732500 I found that if you manually select KB2647753, install it by itself and reboot, the rest will be able to install without problems...

    Impossible vector ??

Hi Zen, Very interesting, my report indicates that we're V14. Unless Avaya counts backwards, I should be good-to-go. What's even more confusing is that on page 6 of this report, it reads: Call Center Release: 12.0. Time to call my BP or Avaya rep. Thanks for the assist. Scott

    Impossible vector ??

Well here's a problem, if I try to use the "set" command, the system tells me that the call center release must be 3.0 or later. I did a "DISP CAP" but couldn't find our current level of call center. Back to the drawing board. Scott

    Impossible vector ??

Thanks for the feedback JP and Zen. I'll have to set up a couple of tests and try 'em. Appreciate the quick responses. Scott

    Impossible vector ??

Hi Everyone, I'm not sure if this can be done or not, but if it can, it might just save me from many many hours of work! We're running CM 4.0.1. Here's what I'd like to do: Caller would dial extension (VDN) xxxx and have it answer with a prompt like: "Please enter the patient's room number...

Modified base for 96xx phone with bluetooth ??

Ok, thanks. Looks like it's time to get our Avaya rep involved and make them earn their keep! Scott

Modified base for 96xx phone with bluetooth ??

Hi Phoneguy55, Are you talking about the stand that tilts to allow the phone to be upright (about a 75 degree angle) or normal (about a 45 degree angle) ?? That's the base that came with the phone. When we mount the bluetooth adapter on the bottom of the phone (for the ABT-35H bluetooth...

Modified base for 96xx phone with bluetooth ??

Hi Everyone, We're starting to deploy 96xx series IP phones and have one user who ordered the bluetooth headset and adapter. The adapter plugs in to the bottom of the phone, but in order to accomodate the adapter, the swivel base had to be removed. Does anyone have any experience with...

Anyone (especially hospitals) running 4-digit and 5-digit dial plans?

To Chicagophoneman: We're located in Geneva, but have sites in St. Charles. Do you live in the area? Scott

Anyone (especially hospitals) running 4-digit and 5-digit dial plans?

Thanks to all who replied. I'm still gathering ammo for my final argument with the CIO. If he's really on my side, I hope he'll see that it's easier to train people to dial 7 plus 4 digits for a patients room then it will be to change over 200 established extensions and potentially re-program...

Anyone (especially hospitals) running 4-digit and 5-digit dial plans?

Hi Tlpeter, The problem is that we're updating the room numbers throughout the entire building from 3-digits to 4-digits to accomodate the expansion happening now, and for future growth. The dial plan is currently 4-digits, which is fine for now. Currently patient rooms are 3-digits, like...

Anyone (especially hospitals) running 4-digit and 5-digit dial plans?

Hi Everyone, We're about to add a significant edition to our hospital and it will add 60+ patient rooms. We're currently running a 4-digit dial plan, but with the new edition, we can't match the room number to the extension because the necessary extensions have already been assigned. We are...

    MM Client Web Services Failure

Tried changing the line in the global.inc file, but now I get a 401.3 unauthorized access error. The entire error reads: You are not authorized to view this page You do not have permission to view this directory or page due to the access control list (ACL) that is configured for this resource...

    MM Client Web Services Failure

I've got a case open with Avaya for the same thing. They state that this is some sort of "bug" that is date sensitive. They guy I was talking with sent me a new start.asp file to be dropped in the web server in C:\program files\avaya\webmsg\scripts. He then had me crank back the date on the...

    WIPE CONFIG FOR 4630 PHONE

We're doing the 4.x upgrade as I write this. I think I'm going to take 98Converter's advice and put the 4630 on a shelf. I've got a 9640 waiting to be activated, so I might make that the 4630's replacement. Thanks. Scott

    WIPE CONFIG FOR 4630 PHONE

This week (God willing) we're going to upgrade to 4.0.1. This will allow us to play with the 96xx and 16xx series IP phones. Fortunately this is the only phone of its kind in our system. I was kind of hoping for a "back door" way of wiping its memory so we could re-load it. I think next week...

    WIPE CONFIG FOR 4630 PHONE

Hi Everyone, We have one person who has a 4630 phone. We recently had to replace it because the switchook was intermittent. After setting it up, the user reports problems with the screen not refreshing, and when it idles out (goes to sleep) it locks up and requires it to be power cycled...

Question for anyone who works in a hospital environment

Thanks AMGTEKIII. I won't comment on the doctor's coordination, we're just glad it wasn't a visitor of the patient -- come to think of it, that would be one way to raise the census.

Question for anyone who works in a hospital environment

Hi Everyone, Our hospital recently recorded an injury by a doctor who got tangled in a patient's phone cord. Three cracked ribs and a minor head wound later, I was called upon to address the situation somehow. We've considered cordless phones in our patient rooms but have disqualified them...
